What is the difference between Kevlar 29 and Kevlar 129?
Kevlar 29 (created in the early 70's) is the first generation bullet
proof resistant fibers and Kevlar 129 (created in 1988) is second generation
bullet proof resistant fibers. The 2nd generation fibers provide
more protection capabilities against high energy rounds.

The first modern bullet proof vest was created in 1965 by DuPont. This
company created bullet proof vests made out of Kevlar, which is until today one
of the two most commonly used materials in bullet proof vests.
