The lock on our Thule roofbox has jammed with key in it

I did a lot of research on forums about this and wanted to consolidate the results:1. Don't use WD40, it attracts dust and grime later, use Silicon Spray or graphite dust2. The main reason I'm posting, once it's free to open, lubricate behind the sliding locking bars with Silicon Spray, this helps A LOT.3. Also consider what I did which helps 99% of the rest of the way: buy a couple feet of PVC, large enough to cover the sliding locking bars, cut it in half the long way, attach it to the box over the locking bars (I drilled holes and used zip ties). The only remaining issue I have now is if I pile stuff too high and it puts upward pressure on the box lid, so don't do that. ;-)As to the PVC, I think it was 1", and in fact it was not really big enough to completely cover the locking bars, so I didn't tighten the zip-ties down all the way, if I did it again I'd get bigger pipe or heat it and flatten it out a bit, but I just tested this setup on a 1200 mile trip and it worked great, noticeably smoother opening and closing.

1994 Polaris Indy Sport 440. Why does it run great but rattle? Sometimes it will backfire out of a carb, which I'm assuming is too much fuel.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to a Polaris Snowmobile category. Rattling is almost certainly the automatic clutch. Backfiring could be due to a few things, and is often lean mixture via the carb rather than rich mixture in the exhaust. Check the plug electrode. Black means it rich, chalky white means it's lean. The correct colour is a straw hue and no fouling. Backfiring is a well known issue. Check timing as well. https://www.google.com/search?q=1994+polaris+indy+sport+440+backfires+through+carb Rattling can be other things as well as listed here https://www.google.com/search?q=1994+polaris+indy+sport+440+rattles ..

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Seat Cars (Spanish car maker and pronounced See-at) to Snowmobiles Category. The are videos and text based articles. You never have to remove the battery, and you never have to worry about it it not being charged. https://www.google.com/search?q=skandic+skidoo+remove+battery ..

Just bought M3 Discord bindings

First off if you have a 4 bolt pattern board it will look like this * * * * what you want to do is set the              * * * * Bindings on the board about shoulder length apart and thenfind the corresponding holes in underneath the slots in the bindings base. once you find the holes look at the edges of the round inserts, they have degree markings on them. i angle my binding about 15 degrees forward for the front one and 15 degrees back for the back one. This is a very freestyle oriented setup. for learning i would go 30 dergrees forward on the front and 15 degrees back on the back. and there you go your set to ride.Make sure you tighten all the screws very tight you dont want them coming loose on the mountain.also do not use locktight on the screws it can damage your board.
