What is the difference between overlay welding and hard facing?

Hardfacing welding is an overlay i.e to completely cover the surface such as applying an overlay to a worn or damaged shaft. Overlay welding is normally done with a machineable alloy that is close to or very compatible with the original alloy. Hardfacing is typically not normally done as a complete overlay but rather placed only at wear point or it is applied to surfaces with the random arrangement. Hardfacing electrodes are specially used in hard facing.

What is the best flux cored welding wire?

Welding includes consolidating various materials. In the welding procedure, a decent measure of 'dissolving' of the metals happens while fixing two metals together, and this is the thing that separates it from patching and brazing. Generally, metals or thermoplastics are utilized in the welding procedure. Flux-cored bend welding (FCAW) is one of the well known welding forms. It is a programmed or self-loader circular segment strategy. Presented during the 1950s, this procedure includes the utilization of another sort of wire cathode on a MIG welding machine. This is the motivation behind why motion cored is viewed as like MIG welding process. The types of gear utilized in both the procedures are the same, so are wire fields and force supply. The wire utilized in this intention is the rounded wire and not so the typical strong wire. Fundamentally there are two kinds of flux core wire: a. Self-protected b. Double Shield While self-protected wires don't utilize any outer gas shield, rather they utilize the transition to shield the liquid weld puddle; double shield wire utilizes both the outside protecting gas just as the motion to secure the liquid weld puddle. Normally carbon dioxide and argon are utilized as protecting gases in double shield transition cored wire. In the event that we contrast motion cored circular segment and MIG welding process, at that point, it has more noteworthy efficiency. While a MIG welder can create on a normal 5 to 8 pounds of weld in 60 minutes, FCAW delivers over 25 pounds of weld for each hour. Alongside higher profitability, transition center welding can weld 1/2? plates during a period that too on both sides with the full entry. This is the exact motivation behind why this welding procedure is utilized in the shipbuilding industry which requires great welds that are not tedious and can work even in breezy conditions. It is additionally utilized in the development industry because of its speed and transportability.

Lincoln 100 HD mig welder arcing at the beginning of the liner just past the feeder wheels, I changed the liner, it didn't make a difference?

The feeder motor, gearbox and all the rest of the feeder unit is mounted on a fiber plate to insulate it from the case of the machine. Something is grounding these parts to the machine frame. It might be some tools laying in the bottom or a buildup of scale and conducting dirt inside the machine. If you understand what I am telling you, an ohm meter set to ohms X1 may help you find the problem. Let me know if you locate the problem.

http://www.millerwelds.com/service/ownersmanuals.php?modelIf you see a model that is close in description in the Blue Star models, such as a "145" the wiring diagram should be close if not the same. Otherwise select from the list the Blue Star with the same engine type as yours. The If the tag is not damaged, and truly a JE series, you can download all the Blue Star manuals to find the one that has your serial number in the range. Miller is good with manuals, but sometimes the cross reference to just serial number does not work.

My Lincoln weld pak 100 feeding wire but can get an arc

There are several things that could cause this: 1. The relay (contactor) that switches on the arc is not closing and it could be bad. 2. The diodes in the power supply are bad. 3. The low voltage transformer is bad.

Welder seems to jump and it feeing wire, it runs free when not welding, checked gas, new tip, still jumps as welding

If it is an MiG welder, there are a few possibilities. 1- The roller traction adjustment of the feeder roller is incorrect or not properly locked. 2- Your weld makes the wire stick to the metal and holds back the feed causing backspooling. If this is the case, try increasing the welding amp or voltage. 3.-Low quality welding spool.
