My Noritz 6.9 flashes a 90 code. I was told by
I recently started getting an error 90 on my N69-M unit. I finally got a hold of someone at Noritz tech support and they state this error is a general combustion/exhaust/air flow error. Here is what they suggested to look at.
Gas Pressure – The unit has a minimum flow rate for the incoming gas and if the system is gas starved, then you have some sort of obstruction or restriction. If this is a new install and you are getting an error 90, this is likely your problem but if this is an existing install that suddenly started getting this error, unless someone was monkeying around with any values you might have in-line, this probably isn’t your problem.
Air Flow – This is a ventilation issues caused by the build-up of dust, lint, etc that chokes the flow of cool air to the unit and causes the burner to overheat. If your unit runs for a while and then pops an error 90, this is probably your problem. They told me they get a lot of these errors when the unit is installed in close proximity to a clothes dryer, which makes sense. To resolve this, remove the front panel and blow out the intake holes and slots (I tried to shop-vac mine before blowing them out and I was amazed at how much the vacuum didn’t remove). After removing the cover, the first thing you should see is a system board that is covered by a black dust shield. The board is held to the unit by 3 screws (one on the top left and two at the bottom). Remove the screws and let the board dangle by the wires plugged in it. You should now be staring at the fan assembly. They suggested that I either remove the whole unit and clean it out or use compressed air to blow it out. I went with the compressed air route because getting the fan assembly out requires removing and eventually reinstalling 2 relatively small screws way in the back of the unit that you have no real easy way to get to. Blow/clean the fan out and then blow out everything else inside the unit. Reassemble and you are good to go, provided this is your problem.
Exhaust – You might see an error 90 if the exhaust can’t freely flow. Two things can cause an exhaust issue to throw this error. One is that the flapper valve on the outlet of the system sometimes gets stuck closed. This should be easy enough to fix. The other is an obstruction in your exhaust ducting or using too small of a diameter duct to exhaust the unit.
Hope this was somewhat helpful and prevents you from having to wait on hold forever for Noritz support or having to pay someone to fix your problem.
Rheem 27 instant electric hot water heater causes
According to the literature I read, this heater requires a DEDICATED 240 volt, 60 amp service minimum. That means it should have its own circuit breaker with nothing else on that line. Depending on the overall electric service size for the building, the heater is causing an overload when it's on and resulting in a voltage drop that causes the flickering and possibly other issues. You didn't say if this was a residential installation but if it is, most homes have a 100 amp 240 volt service (in the USA). The heater is using most of the home's power. If there are other loads on the service like an electric range or oven, the problem will be worse. If the home is new, it may be equipped with a 240 volt, 200 amp service. If that's the case, the heater should be checkd with an ammeter to be sure it is not over-drawing for some reason like under sized wiring, bad connections or contaminated heating electrodes.
Installed a new water heater but can't get it lit.
That's because presumably you are not a certified gas engineer. The law says new installations and servicing must be done by a qualified engineer. Call in a service tech to set it up and certify it safe.
Rinnai tankless water heater code 12
12 - Flame Failure or Poor Ground
1. Immediate code 12 is usually a defective gas valve, power supply problem, or defective fan motor wiring harness.
2. If code 12 occurs after a few seconds it indicates that proper operation was established, but then stopped unexpectedly.
3. Verify that fuel is being supplied to the unit.
4. Check for proper electrical ground. Unit must use a grounded power supply.
5. Check for flue blockage on inlet or exhaust.

Tempra Plus 29 thermal breakers keep tripping, heater will not heat water.
You can find this site but you can't google the manufacturer site.
If you are not able to resolve a problem please contact us toll free at 800-582-8423 before removing the unit from the wall. Stiebel Eltron is happy to provide technical assistance. In most instances, we can resolve the problem over the phone.
Why is the gas not going to the burner?
'make model (what it is)' in all question please Rick.
All of the gas passageways in a fridge are very small. If you removed the gas valve and associated pipes, it takes a long time for the gas to bleed through and get from the gas line to the pilot light and that is needed to heat the thermocouple and allow the gas valve to open.
It should also be mentioned that all work on Gas appliances should be undertaken by a qualified and registered gas technician.
Water wizard 10P pilot light keeps going out
If the thermocoupler is defective the gas to everything is shut off. The coupler is the bulb that sits ib the pilot flame If it doesn't heat up it will sense no pilot and shut the gas off. They don't cost much and are easy to change. Good Luck, Ned
My pilot light control switch will not return to Off or pilot it is stuck in the On position.
Question edited for funky spelling of 'pilot', (piolt light)..You posted to the Cars and Trucks category, what year make and model is it? :>DThis sounds like some type of gas appliance, stove, fire or central heating furnace? It is gas and can only be worked on by a registered gas service technician.'make model (what is is)' in all question of this type please.'year make model' in all vehicle questions please.
Pentair pool heater leaking
if coming out of pressure switch with clear plastic tube then heat exchange is full of water and leaking need new exchange
Are all 25VS FV sensors equivalent?
I personally wouldn't replace a safety device (placed there by lawyers, lawsuits and the all knowing government) with anything other than OEM. While it's very likely that one manufacturers flammable vapor sensor may interchange on another brand of tank, I think it's highly unlikely that EVERY manufacturers sensor will work on every other brand of tank
