Brush roller not rotating

Full 'make model (what it is)' is needed in all questions on Fixya please. The drive belt is broken whether it is a standalone upright cleaner or whether it is a canister vacuum with a hose and wand with brush head. How you replace it is completely dependent on make and model, but can easily be Googled or refer to the manual.

Nilfisk Elite Comfort vacuum cleaner. How to change rear wheels on it please? I have original replacement parts but fail to remove old wheels.

It appears for have hidden spindles holding the wheels so would involve full disassembly. No one has documented this before https://www.nilfisk.com/global/consumer/products/vacuum-cleaners/traditional/elite-energy-comfort-eu/c_107413385/ By the looks of it, you start with the 2 screws in the bag access bay and then keep going. This is a job that should be done by a service centre. https://www.google.com/search?q=Nilfisk+Elite+Comfort+disassembly The Parts Diagram shows all the relative parts and the wheels are held internally by one screw. Blow the PDF image up to 250%. https://www.wap-nilfisk-alto-shop.de/media/pdf/83/5d/da/ET_Elite.pdf ..

Can not open IntelliSeat filter. The nozzle is not spray because there is no water. The manual shows to check the filter. But can not open it. The white plastic is so tight and soft. Any suggestion?

Hold the unit aloft, then tap lightly with a rubber or wood mallet all the way around the filter housing, try turning it then repeat process, it should come off eventually.

My lux legacy is not registering that I have replaced the bag

There is a trigger/sensor that activates when a new bag is replaced. Check to see that it is not stuck or dirty and moves freely when touched.

The bottom of the clear canister opens before I am ready...have to re-vacuum. Lock not working correctly. Seems secure when attaching & vacuuming...just falls open before I can remove it.

Check for dirt in tracks of closure mechanism, clean as nessary. Also, check worn mis-aligned, adjusted clasp.

Rainbow SRX motor spinning slow

Sounds like an unwanted ingress of water into the motor assembly. Not a lot can be done without stripping the machine down and taking a look at any damage.

I have a Black + Decker Multipower Pet CUA525BHP-GB Cordless Vacuum Cleaner which is only 6 months old. Dust & debris gets caught in the hose rather than going up into the cylinder.

There is probably a blockage in the pipe or on the entry to the motor. I would take it to pieces and clean it.

Vax carpet shampooer keeps burning out belts!

Question edited for clarity. No Gary It's not the carpet. The brush bar bearing ends are clogged up with hair and stuff. The brush wasn't turning properly and burnt the belt out. You put another one in and because the brush bar was still clogged and not turning freely, it burned out the new belt. Turn the machine over and try to turn the brush bar with your fingers. It is tight isn't it? Remove it and clean it. It should spin freely. I do my Dyson every 6 months. Video in the link. https://www.google.com/search?q=vax+carpet+cleaner+cleaning+brushes ..

When cleaning the cyclone head can this be flushed with water?

Hi Len, it's Jack at Dyson. The cyclone pack on your DC14 should never be washed, flushed with water or submerged. Any residual water left within the assembly could cause permanent damage to your vacuum not covered under warranty. It could also contribute to an unpleasant odour from your machine in use. To clean the clear bin and shroud, you can remove the clear bin from the cyclone pack using the catch on the rear of the cyclone pack, as shown below. A soft brush or dry cloth can then be used to remove any clinging fluff or debris from the shroud. Gently tapping the cyclone pack will also help remove any clinging dust particles. 6c6a4392-33ed-4cae-ae42-15fe795ddcf0.jpg 723c157c-c771-4e93-9c38-ab070bd8dae2.jpg You can also rinse or wipe the inside of the clear bin with a damp cloth to remove any dust particles, but make sure it's completely dry before reassembling. I hope this helps, but if you'd like any further guidance on maintaining your vacuum, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
