I would check the user manual. That said, the following may or may not fit your model: Ensure that the hard floor cleaner is powered off and unplugged to avoid any accidents. Push a flathead screwdriver into the hole guidance, located at the back towards the bottom of the handle. The handle can then be released by pulling upwards. If this does not work, you may need to contact the manufacturer's customer service. Don't be embarrassed about that. When you are using the vacuum and then turn it off, the motor is hot and there is no cooling airflow. If the vacuum is close to cutting out through overheating that lack of air will trip it. This type of problem usually is not he fault of the Shark Steam Mop.
The problem is the old residue left on the floors by other cleaners.

yes you should get some kind of power indicated that power is on the machine i would first check the circuit breaker and then assure that you have power coming out of the outlet after which you could then use a multimeter to folow where you do have power going to sometimes it could also be a bad switch on the unit itself but first assure where you do have power going to and any further questions message me back Thanks Rick

normally the battery gives up in this vacuum cleaners through my experience

confirm the charger first
use a voltage tester to check the voltage coming from the charger

the voltage will read from 12volts to 18 volts
depending you vacuum model.


If you the voltage is present then the battery is dead.

This is a little joke that Hoover has played, and for some reason no one else has explained it. (One answer hints at it, but doesn't explain at all.) The height adjuster does NOT operate when the vacuum is in the upright & locked position. The tabs for the adjuster won't go into the holes above them until the vacuum is unlocked and at a slight angle. You can just install the height adjuster wheel assembly in the locked position, replace the lower cover, and voila! you will be able to adjust the height with the vacuum angled as it is for use. That's an hour of my life I won't get back!
