Who is the 'audience' member that Tobias was playing for?
Hannibal is the audience. Here is the sequence of events: Tobias meets Lecter at the benefit when Franklin introduces him. Tobias follows Lecter planning on killing him, but discovers Lecter dismembering a body in a bus. Tobias then stages a very elaborate crime scene that will get lots of public attention. He makes remarks to Franklin that he knows Franklin will carry on to Lecter (Franklin even realizes that Tobias likely intended for him to do so). The result, as desired, is that Lecter deduces Tobias is the murderer and makes contact.
The amount of time in between is not that important. A painter's intended audience might see the painting well after it's completed.
Why does the show kill so many people off and then suddenly resurrect them all?
At the end of Season 2 Finale, you don't conculsively know their all dead. Everyone's at edge of dying and granted the amount of blood lost by all seems pretty conculsive in terms of death. Bryan Fuller has indicated that the show was on the chopping block at the end of Season 2 so he wanted an open ended finale that could work both ways-cliffhanger or series ending. Conceptually and stylistically, it's the best killing tableau in both seasons. It underscores the terrible betrayal and horror of Hannibal finally revealed.
Why Zuko abdicated from the throne?
Abdication of the throne has benefits. First when a ruler abdicates the throne toward thier successor there is no question of rightful hier as when the ruler dies and they are succeeded by thier hier. When abdicating ones throne the current ruler can plan ahead and ensure thier successor is properly trained and ready for the duties of the monarchy. Since the predacessor is not dead, they can still watch over and advise thier successor.
What do you think of Wu's Plan?
Based on the history of the Earth Kingdom I conclude that Wu's idea is well meaning but ultimately naive. During the Hundred Years War, the lack of central authority in the Earth Kingdom greatly aided the Fire Nation's conquest. Furthermore, the Earth Kingdom states were independent for three years after Earth Queen Hou-Ting was murdered, and they weren't able to stand by themselves (which is why kuvira managed to gain control over them). It is apparent that most of these states don't possess the necessary infrastructure to maintain self-reliance while independent. Therefore, I believe the best form of government for them would be an Earth Federation akin to the United States or Russia in our world. That way, state and national government would be balanced in power. Furthermore, it would provide a way for the diverse peoples of their nation to work together in a way that would help them find solutions to their massive problems.
