A schematic for the capacitors? I do not believe there is such a thing. A capacitor is a capacitor and does not have a schematic.

Try unplugging it and wait a bit before plugging it in. Plug directly to wall instead of surge protector. If all this fails it may be toast as was mine but contact Hitachi before recycling it.

Most likely the edge lighting has gone bad in that area. It may be fixable at a TV shop, but will probably cost as much as a new TV. Take it to GEEK Squad at a Best Buy for a quick diagnosis. Then if it cannot be fixed for a reasonable price, they will recycle it for you and you can look for a new TV.

There should be buttons on the TV itself to try if your remote is not working. My guess is that SkyeTV comes into the TV through a HDMI cable, so look for HDMI input as source, not "Skye."

Most universal remotes allow you to seek and find the working code. Look at your manual for the remote for more information. Takes a bit of time, but usually works.

Most DVD players have a small hole in the front of the unit where you can insert a straightened out paperclip and unlock the drive tray. You may have turned down or off the front display by mistake. Look at the user manual for information about that.
