How do I recalibrate the scale? It keeps showing 44 pounds and I can cannot clear it. I have tried taking the batteries out.

The process for recalibrating a scale can vary depending on the specific model. However, a common method for resetting a digital scale is to first turn it off, then press and hold the "tare" or "calibration" button (if available) while turning it back on. Keep holding the button until the display shows "0" or "CAL" and then release the button. If this does not work, consult the user manual for your scale or contact the manufacturer for specific instructions.

Cannot get unit to start unless I manually remove the back and move the "A1" pin.

It's possible that there's a loose connection or a malfunction with the "A1" pin, which is preventing the unit from starting. You may want to try tightening or reconnecting the wire for the "A1" pin, or consider seeking the help of a professional to diagnose and repair the issue.

Every time I take my dog to the groomers he starts shaking uncontrollably. Is it possible that they do something wrong to him while he's there? He seems so scared to go?

Don't worry, most dogs have this "shaking" reaction when going to the groomers. By nature, dogs are very intuitive and pick up on their owners anxiety. Try keeping calm and reassuring your dog that everything is ok. If you are really concerned then find a shop that will let you stay and watch while your dog is being groomed.

My sugar glider hates everyone. She was already a year old when I got her and she just snarls and fusses and bites whenever I try to pick her up.

Put on some leather gloves until she gets used to being handled and knows you are not going to hurt her.

Almost any pet store or a local Wal-Mart will carry water bowls specific for kennel use. I will send you a few links to some to get you started in your search for the right one for you.

My cat meows very loudly in the spring. Will a cat muzzle keep her quiet?

You cat is in heat. Get her spayed if it bothers you. She will probably go berserk if you try putting a muzzle on her.
