Is there a Gravel size chart for driveways that I can look at to see exactly what size I need
Is this going to be finished product? Are you going to end up driving on it? Or are you going to compact it , and use it as a sub base, to pour concrete over it?
if it's going to be an underlayment, make sure that you compacted very well!
Put down a layer, sprinkle lots of water on top of it, and then use a plate compactor over, and over, and over it, doing this repetitively water compaction, more gravel, water, more compaction.
3/4- works best for this.
If you are going to be driving on it, and it is going to be your finished product, then use something bigger like 1.5 inch, especially if there is no other gravel below it. If very muddy, and soft, and you will not be using an underlayment fabric, then go even bigger - 3 inches plus. But it is recommended to use an underlayment fabric.
otherwise, what can happen over time , is the rock will fall deeper and the mud will rise to the top.
