Can I tape between a popcorn ceiling and a smooth drywall wall?

By beading, are you referring to drywall tape? If this is cracked and you want to repair the tape, I suggest you use a nice cove mold to cover up the lose tape. Otherwise you'll need to remove the old tape, smooth out the popcorn ceiling area, re-tape the corning then feather it in, then texture the ceiling again. The trip is much easier to do. It's cleaner, quicker and really would look nice. Will it stick? yes but unless you want to keep the same look, I opt for the cove mold.

Drywall applcation

If it's the initial coat- that's quite normal. Subsequent coats of compound are put on the joint using a trowel that has a slight concave edge, so the compound is thicker in the middle portion on the joint. This fills in the joint, and when the compound dries it shrinks to a more flat surface. When done properly, the joint edges are feathered and there is little sanding to be done.

Can I use a plastic putty knife to tape up dry

Its not recommended that you use a plastic putty knife when working with drywall. Since the plastic ones are not made for that purpose and don't hold up as well as the metal ones that are made for drywall taping.

What are rasps how are they different from other

Rasps are used if you want to shave off small pieces of drywall, like if the line you cut isn't perfectly straight. Other saws are used more for cutting peices in half or cut out shapes. Make sure you wear a mask because rasping makes a lot of dust!

You have to replace the entire depth guage assembly (the front plastic pieces where the bit driver is). Unfortunatly Bosch does not make the individual pieces for this gun. Any Bosch service center will be able to supply you with this piece
