The F70 indicates a communication error code between the main control on the top left and the user interface on the front. Unplug the machine and remove the top. Check the connection on the board in the white plastic housing on the top left. Next check the connections on the board on the front.

Drier? Make and model may help you get an answer.

It is best to leave the plug on the power cable as if there is an issue, it can be isolated from power without delay.

Maybe it needs to be reprogrammed after new batteries. What is the model number on the remote, please?

we had a similar problem happen with our Hampton Bay Renaissance fan. It turns out that the warranty does not cover this by the way. The lifetime warranty you refer to is only on the fan motor. This is common with most fan manufacturers- just wanted to let you know about this because I think your interpretation of the warranty is wrong. This fan is really hard to find and so are the parts for it. I would recommend trying to call Home Depot where you bought it or call the Hampton Bay customer support phone number. You're likely going to have to go through one of those mediums. I feel that the second thing (calling technical support for Hampton Bay) will probably connect you to Home Depot too because Hampton Bay is a house brand of Home Depot. They are just a low-end fan for Home Depot. The Hunters in Home Depot are also low-end. I personally would never buy Hampton Bay. Did you ever notice that the fan problems on here are mostly Hampton Bay, Harbour Breeze & Hunter?
