Hi, if you go into camera setup and make sure that the digital zoom is on then the camera will automatically go seemlessley from optical to digital zoom when the maximum optical zoom is reached. The digital zoom can only be used in certain modes, so if you cannot change the digital zoom to on because it is 'greyed out' change the camera shooting mode. please can you clarify the second request. OK, I'll need an idea of what the old cable looked like. I'm assuming the camera end was a 'Headphones' style plug. A headphones connector of that type is usually a 3.5mm size. Was the other end a single cable, a pair of cables or a set of 3? Can you remember if the were coloured or had coloured marks on them, Commonly red and white for audio and yellow for video. Note this is a video connection cable and it is unlikely you will be able to transfer video to record it. This is an 'Analogue' camera and the cable is basically there so you playback video you took on a larger screen using the camera as a playback machine.
