Hi, There are two parts to the 'float valve' pin which has fallen out. The pin itself pushes back in from the underside of the pan lid, BUT, there should be a clear silicone grommet or washer, which slides over the pin from the outside. This is what holds the 'float valve' pin in place & stops it falling into the pan in use. If you've lost the original grommet in the washing-up, there might be a spare which came in the original box with the pan. If not, you can order the replacements from the manufacturer or on eBay. The top left SSS squiggles with underline under it, is high; the right side with the two squiggles with underline is low and the bottom one with the '_' and squiggles is the keep warm. You can set the timer for up to 20 hours by pushing the up arrow to the amount of time wanted. It will shut off after the time is up, so if you want to keep something warm, you will need to turn it on the warmer selection. I hope this helps, the squiggles or wavy lines whatever they are called is a terrible indicator if you don't want to have to look it up each time in the manual especially if one doesn't use this all that often.
