Make sure the box is in a low traffic area. Is there #2 in the box when it #1's outside of it. Does kitty get close to the box or just random place ?

Do you mean cat is throwing the litter out of the box? Sinply place a rubber mat underneath which isceasynto clean. or is cat going outside the box? It could be more than one cat using box, or the box needs to be changed more frequently.

Try to avoid giving treats to your cat if possible. Most treats are very poor quality food. Instead, you might want to give them a quality soft can of cat food like Natural Balance as a treat every so often.

You get distracted to other things when at home and therefore work gets neglected.

He should be seeing a vet, but if you must check it out. Firmly wrap him in a towel with just his head showing. It's best to have 2 people do this. But a vet would be better in case the foot gets infected.
