I just bought a ONN Camcorder 1.44 digital screen with 2x digital zoom.
Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from '2X Computers'.
ONN is Walmart's Bargain basement brand made in China. The manuals are written in Chinese and translated in a very brief way by non fluent translators. The best option is to go back into Walmart Camera section and ask one of the associates to show you how it works. Make sure it is fully charged and take the manual with you.
I video taped a wedding and am trying to copy from
I can only believe that you did not connect everything (the yellow video cable) correctly.
Tape to tape copies are normal and typical. Please consider retrying - and just do a few minutes of test video to confirm that it is working.
If you were doing a digital translation, I could understand a problem - but VHS to VHS should be a straight copy.....
Let us know how the test works. (BTW, I had a bad quality video cable - and had to replace it with another - which worked (and everything would display on my TV but would not copy onto another tape. My expert said that a copy protection thing in the record mode of the VHS recorder was the issue - ONLY a strong signal will be copied.
Need to copy/transfer 8mm camcorder tapes or fix broken Camcorder
There is no adapter available because the tape size is different than VHS. If yuo can post a picture of the part that is broken, I may be able to locate one. I have a number of scrap units that I can part out. Please also indicate where you aer located in the country.
Thanks,
Dan
Panasonic Palmcorder model VJAW0032. No audio during playback. Has anyone had similar problems?
Having camera issues is always a pain, Here are a few trouble shooting ideas to see if it can solve the issue.
try cleaning the playback head: If the audio issue persists with all recordings, it's possible that the playback head may be dirty. Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the head, affecting the audio quality. Try using a head cleaning tape to clean the playback head following the manufacturer's instructions.
Check the audio output connections: Ensure that the audio output connections (e.g., headphone jack, AV output) are secure and properly connected. If you are using external speakers or headphones, try them with other devices to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Test with different playback devices: Try playing back the recorded video on a different device like a computer or another video player. This will help you determine if the audio issue is specific to the Palmcorder or if the video file itself is corrupted.
Update firmware or software: Check the Panasonic website for any firmware updates or software patches that might address audio playback issues. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for updating your Palmcorder.
Lastly Reset to factory settings: If none of the above steps resolve the problem, consider performing a factory reset on the Palmcorder. This will reset all settings to their default values, and it might help if the issue is caused by a software misconfiguration.
I cannot connect my camcorder to my Mac, even though I have the proper USB cable.
If you check the manual, "Operating System: Support for Windows 98,98SE,ME,2000,XP,Vista,Win7,Win10"
Not supported by MAC OSx

I have a Yashica,Samurai Video 8 KX-77 Video Camera Recorder when I playback the picture rolls what can I do ?
If you are experiencing issues with the playback on your Yashica Samurai Video 8 KX-77 Video Camera Recorder, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Clean the playback heads: Use a head-cleaning cassette or a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the playback heads. Dirty heads can cause playback issues and poor picture quality.
- Check the tapes: Ensure that the video tapes you are trying to play are in good condition and not damaged. Inspect the tape for any signs of damage or deformation that could affect playback. If the tapes are damaged, you may need to try a different tape or have the damaged tapes repaired.
- Adjust the tracking: Use the tracking control on the camera recorder to adjust the playback tracking. The tracking control helps align the playback heads with the tape tracks for optimal playback quality. Experiment with adjusting the tracking to see if it improves the picture quality.
- Test with different tapes: If possible, try playing different video tapes to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to certain tapes or if it is a broader issue with the camera recorder itself.
- Seek professional service: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to seek professional repair or servicing for the camera recorder. Contact a reputable camera repair shop or the manufacturer's customer support for assistance.

I have a Panasonic PV-GS85 palmcorder. The cassette mechanism will not release. When I open the hinged door, I hear a click and then nothing. Is there a manual release for the cassette?
In the Panasonic PV-GS85 palmcorder, there is typically a manual release option for the cassette mechanism. Here's what you can try to manually release the cassette:
- Ensure the palmcorder is turned off: Make sure the power is turned off before attempting any manual release.
- Locate the manual release switch: On the palmcorder, look for a small lever or switch near the cassette compartment. It is usually labeled "Eject" or "Manual Release."
- Engage the manual release: Use your finger or a small tool (such as a pen or paperclip) to gently slide or press the manual release switch. Apply gentle pressure in the direction indicated (usually towards the open position) while pressing the switch.
- Open the cassette compartment: While holding or engaging the manual release, try to open the cassette compartment by gently pulling it open. The manual release should override any locking mechanism and allow the compartment to open.
Panasonic PV-L559 Camera is stuck rewinding the tape
It sounds like your camera is experiencing a mechanical issue with the tape mechanism. Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the problem:
- Power off the camera: Turn off the camera and remove any power sources, such as the battery or AC adapter. This will ensure the camera is completely powered down.
- Eject the tape: Look for a manual eject button or lever on the camera. It's usually located near the tape compartment or on the side of the camera. Press or slide the eject mechanism to try and release the stuck tape. Be gentle and avoid using excessive force.
- Gently assist the tape: If the tape doesn't eject smoothly, you can try gently assisting it using a small, non-metallic object like a toothpick or a plastic tool. Carefully insert the object into the tape compartment and try to guide the tape back into the cassette while the eject mechanism is activated. Again, be gentle to avoid damaging the tape or the camera.
- Reset the camera: After removing the tape or resolving any potential jam, reinsert the power source (battery or AC adapter) and turn on the camera. This can sometimes reset the internal mechanisms and restore normal functionality.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's advisable to contact the manufacturer's support or a professional camera repair service for further assistance. They have the expertise to diagnose and repair mechanical problems with the camera's tape mechanism. Make sure to provide them with all the relevant details about the issue and the steps you've already taken to troubleshoot it.
