Moen quick connect leaking under sink

you either do not have it seated all the way or you have damaged an o-ring anytime you are putting togethr parts with o-rings you should make sure and put stem grease on the o-rings to ensure not to cut or damage them. if you have damaged the o-ring instead of a whole new part you can take the o-ring out take it to your local hardware store and match it with a new one. dont forget the stem grease.

Price Pfister hot water runs slow

Check the supply line and valve to see if any dirt or foreign.matter got into the line or valve when you changed out your faucet. if this is not the problem you may have a faulty faucet. You may be able to back flush the faucet with a garden hose by leaving the hot side open, but you will get wet. If you used Teflon tape on the supply line and it is a compression fitting, some of the tape could be blocking the water. for more info go to waterheaterflush.com

Black gunk in bathroom faucet screen

Okay, you have black gunk in the screens of your water faucets.....This is usually found in homes with old metal galvanized water lines that have a well or Hard Water. To permenantly get rid of this problem you should have a water softener installed and replace old water lines. If you already have a water softener then you should replace all of your old metal water lines with Copper or Plastic (Plastic being the cheaper way to go). After many years of use, the inside of the galvanized metal water pipes get a Gunky Skummy Build up on the inside of the pipes from minerals and particals in the water, usually in older homes and farm houses. You will see this Gunk if you take a section of water line apart and look in it. There is no really Cheap fix for this, But if you and a Partner a fairly handy, you can do it yourself with CPVC Plastic pipe and Glue. By doing it yourself you will save alot of money on the cost of labor. If you can afford it, Hire it out to your local handyman or plumber. After replacing the water lines you should no longer get the Gunk build up and may even notice a bit more water pressure....I hope this helps in assisting you to the solution......Joe

I've just installed a Fluidmaster

The first thing I would check is to make sure that the body of the float or the linkage that connects the float to the top of valve are not rubbing on inside of the tank and stopping it from moving freely.
Also when tank is full hold float down so that all air that is inside the top of the float is let out. I hope this hepls you. Thanks.

Moen 1225 Cartridge for kitchen faucet

I have no experience with modern quarter-turn taps as I prefer the ease and economy of traditional tap washers. I do have lots of experience with O rings of various types. Most commonly O ring breakage is due to the wrong size being used - diameter and/or section. when machined metal parts are fitted together and sealed with an O ring the clearance between the parts is very small - just enough to allow a sliding fit. The O ring(s) generally locate in a groove, sometimes on the end face but mostly around the diameter. O ring sizes are chosen to completely fill grooves on the end face without either stretching or compressing the rubber. Grooves around the diameter require similar consideration though some stretching is needed to assemble them; once fitted the rubber should not be under either tension or compression. The chosen section of the ring will allow the groove to be filled when the components are fitted together therefore when they are separated it will seem the O ring is too thin for the groove. If the correct size is used with carefully machined components and suitable lubrication applied during assembly there should be no difficulty. O rings are available in a number of different materials from soft natural rubbers to fairly hard synthetic materials. I suggest you carefully measure the components and compare your results with the supplied O rings.
