It depends on the bird type and size. If it is a big parrot like African greys or macaws I would put 2-3 ladders. I also recommend having ladders and perches in the birds stand so the bird will be able to stretch their wings and do some exercise.

It's a common problem. I put new bird seed in a baking pan and put it out on the patio for a few days. When the bugs hatch they're out doors.

Usually fungus. You need to plant tomatoes where the sun will dry the overnight dew quickly each day. Don't water at night (water in the morning). Try to water the soil and not the leaves. Ask your nursery for a fungicide (or if something else is causing yellow leaf in your area). They will know and guide you. Best set to pull off the dead/yellow leaves to limit cross contamination and spread of the fungus/mold.
