Impressive. Not only do you not take care of delicate electronic equipment, now you want us to help you deceive your family. Your only option is to tell the truth, and pay for a replacement - repair will be more costly than buying a new one. BTW, next time use the neck strap - it is there for a reason.

There is nothing you as the user can do to fix the camera, you have two choices, sent it back to the maker for repair/exchange or replace the camera.

Sounds like you broke it. I doubt it can be economically repaired. Get a new one, and don't drop it.

Hi Beshoui, I believe your zoom lens is not extending when you power on. In most cases like this, there is likely a foreign body (sand) or similar objects lodged between the lens tubes or the camera has been subjected to a knock (dropped, bumped against a solid surface) that caused the lens tube to miss-align. All you need to do is: 1. as you switch on the camera, give a little knock/ tapping with your fingers around the lens. 2. if that fails, apply a little pressure to the sides of the lens ring while powering on your camera. Lets hope that will help to dislodge the foreign body or the lens tube miss-alignment.

Battery problem. Check state of charge or replace.
