Hi, this sounds like you would need to call for a home repair. But before that, I would suggest performing a power cycle on your machine (ie restarting). I would also experiment with different load sizes and make sure that the clothes in the machine are well-distributed during the wash. I had a similar sort of problem, and finally called a Beko engineer out. The machine was pushed too far back and had either blocked the water pipe, or waste pipe.... can't remember which, but simply pulling the machine out by an inch cured the problem!

Definitely call, burned plastic is not normal. Just be certain that it is nothing that you accidentally stuck in the dishwasher. Also check around the bottom by the heaters so that nothing is melted to them...

Timer issue is my guess

Probably the control board or internal insulation has failed taking out the protection fuse link. Is it worth repair ... cannot answer that question as I don't know how much you think it is worth.
