I have a 95 ford exploder. I also have similar isdues. Doors won't open from the inside, electric windows only work sometimes, switches to inside lights often randomly change which light they operate, etc. My issues seem to be electrical; a wiring issue. Could be a fuse though. Bottom line, there were a series of years of this vehicle that almost all have these issues. 1993~1998~ish.
The cost of one of those compressors is over $100. When you factor in tax and labor you're better off junking it. Its also possible you have a compressorless cooler called Peltier.
