Washer fills with water but will not agitate, spin or drain. Tried changing the timer but nothing happens. I took the motor coupling off and it looks okay.

The most likely cause is the motor coupling, one on the motor and one on the transmission. UNPLUG POWER FROM WASHER. If it is broken your washer will fill and you will hear the motor running but nothing will happen, no agitation or spin. You will need to loosen the console, remove the cabinet drain pump and motor, then the motor coupling can be replaced on the motor and transmission. Part comes as a kit. Part number 285753a. Coupling broken which joins the motor to the gear box. Look and see or listen if the motor is running then if nothing else is working coupling is broke, easy to replace.
This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.
If the machine starts, fills and goes through its' agitate cycle fine, the problem is likely not in the motor or transmission.
This type of washer uses a reversible motor. When turning one way, the machine agitates the clothes.
When the timer gets to the spin cycle, the motor reverses, drives the pump (directly from the motor) for a period of time and then goes into spin cycle.
This appears then that is is either the connection to the motor itself or the timer.
The timer is driven by a separate motor on the control panel so if the contacts for the spin cycle are worn, the timer will move but the motor won't turn on.
The electric motor my have failed or a part called a capacitor could be the problem?
The capacitor is part of the starting circuit of the electric motor, if this fails the motor will not start therefore the washing machine won't spin or agitate.
Leaks water...check the pump first. The fill valve and hoses may be the next step. See how to take apart info. With the use of plastic drain hoses on many machines today, this has become a common leak trouble maker. The drain hose can rub the wall or a pipe and this will rub a hole in the drain hose.
