Its a regular right hand thread so counter clockwise to remove, clockwise to install.

They can be a real bear to get off. An impact wrench is usually required.

Which direction do i turn the harmonic balancer bolt to remove it on a 1997 honda civic 1.6 liter

Hi:
The harmonic balancer bolt is a normal bolt with right hand threads, so you need to turn it counter-clockwise.
The hardest part of the process is to keep the crankshaft from turning. An impact wrench is the easiest way to go, but if you don't have one, you can use a large strap wrench or chain wrench to hold the harmonic pulley. I use a section of an old belt to protect the pulley.

Just replaced the timing belt on a 1993 Honda civic. 1.6 liter. The timing belt seems to have some slack in it. How do I tighten it?

Tighten the timing belt adjuster bolt and tensioner pivot bolt. the center bolt should allow it to slide thus tightening or loosening the slack. Some even come with a spring on one side might want to check if its worn out.

Cant get crank pully bolt out.Does it turn same as pully or oppisite?

Opposite but the torque on there is extremely high, you are going to need a good breaker bar, block the flywheel with a strong screwdriver.

Do I turn the bolt clockwise or counter clockwise to remove the main crank shaft pullie

It is counter clockwise but you will most likely need an impact or some kind of power tool to loosen. the put a lock on the treads of the bolt to keep it in. I hope this helps and good luck.

How do I loosen the bolt on crank shaft?

Hi Manuel

The bolt comes off, in an anti clockwise direction.

I normally put a socket on an extension bar, with metal tube, to extend the length, on to the crank pulley bolt.

Secure under the vehicle with wooden block, and spin he starter, this will loosen it off no problem.

But this procedure must be carried out, before the cam belt timing is disturbed.

Airgun can be used to replace the bolt.

Good Luck !

A FixYa rating would be Nice......Thank you ! John.

Crank Pully

You may need to get a special crank pulley tool for Honda/Acura. Or you can use an old crank pulley belt and hold it down with a small monkey wrench or something. Then crack the nut counter-clock wise.

How do i change my crank sensor

pretty easy it has one ten mm bolt holding it down ethier on the trasmmision side (bellhousing) or on the belt side near the crankshaft (main belt pulley) it will have a single thick black lead coming off it and this should turn into a three wire plug it may be located under the crank shaft pully and would require you remove the belts and the pully and if so you would need a stong impact gun or honda crank pully holder and a breaker bar i would look here first i think it is behind there, unplug and unbolt this and make sure if there are any shims or spacers under it that they go back how they were i am assuming you have no spark? or an intermittin stall situation?
