I forgot my facebook password AND my yahoo email password. I am locked out of this yahoo account now as well. I can no longer log in to facebook and get to my account. I have a new email address that I use. However, if I try to reset my facebook password off of my new email account, it won't work bc the email/password combination doesn't match. What can I do?

did you receive a notification message from yahoo that your account is locked? if yes, the locking time is 24hours. The account that is locked is due to multiple log ins using a wrong password. and locks after 3 or so attempts.

Wait until the lock time limit had lapsed, then log in again using the correct password.]

You may need to try and log in and hit Forgot My Password if you cannot log in again when your account is unlocked. Do not lock yourself out again, do not attempt password more than twice if you know it won't work. Each time you try to log into your account, it may restart your time and lock it down again during the waiting period.

Do NOT touch it for at least 24 hours.

If you wish to change your password after this period;


Go to yahoo.com

click sign in;

click i cannot access my account;

click forgot password,

click next

Enter in your email address, the security code and try to reset your password. You can also use your alternate email address, or security questions for this.

Then try and sign in again.

You need to log in using the account information you originally set up your Facebook with, then go and change your to your new email address under the settings page.

Step 1: Try typing in the password.
Step 2: If you forgot your password, try hitting the "Forgot my password" for your facebook as well as your Yahoo account. If your Facebook is linked to your Yahoo account that you cannot access, hit the "Forgot my password" link in Yahoo, and check whatever other email accounts you may have - its possible you have told Yahoo to send your account information to there in case something like this happens.

Once your account is locked you can reset your password and the email account associated with your Facebook account will receive email in which instructions will be mentioned to reset your password.

You can request a password reset by clicking the Forgot my password link located near the "Login" button on the log in page. We will then send you an email with a link to reset your password.

If you no longer have access to the email address you use to log in to your account, or you forgot what this email is, please refer to the option that says you no longer have access to email. You will be prompted for a phone number or security questions.

However, you will have to wait the 24 hour period it states before you can get into your account even after you change your password. It will not allow you access to it until then. When you try to log in, it will give you a counter at the top that tells how long you have left before you can do this.
