The UK, Europe and Japan use Region 2. Region 1 discs are used in the USA or Canada. These codes control where the discs can be played, and you cannot normally buy DVDs in a different region and play them at home.
Hi there! North American TVs, consoles and DVD players play video and games in the NTSC format (region 1), while Ireland's and most of Europe's play in PAL(region 2). You best bet to be able to watch your dvd set will be to purchase a dvd player that plays multi regions (these will be a bit more expensive) or to order a region 2 dvd player from Ireland or somewhere in Europe that uses region 2. Hope this helps!
Its not about the format, but about region. For example discs bought in the US(region 1) cannot be played in players bought in UK(region 2). To ensure that this does not happen please buy only discs of your region or region 4(all regions).
The dvds discs u bought from the UK is play on only the DVD player that play PAL signal format. Where u live Canada,US or Mexico?DVD players in these countries. It play only NTSC signal format.U can't change DVD players regions format, only can a DVD players that have regions free to play all DVDs discs of the world.
You need to unlock the player before it will play discs from other regions. UK has region 2 discs while the US has region 1.
Search on Google for your DVD model and unlock code. Dial in the code using your remote and you should then be able to play any region discs from around the world.
Where did u bought this DVD player?US,Canada, and Mexico? The DVD disc. used NTSC region format.Asia,Europe,Africa, and the Middle East. The DVD disc. used PAL region format. They can't be mix or it will not play as u find out.If u move in and out to another region of the world.U must have a regions free DVD player to play either NTSC or PAL regions.
Hi, guessing you are from the UK? Different countries operate different regions for dvd's for instance the UK dvd players are set up to play region 2 discs, and US dvd players are set up to play region 1 discs. This is because dvd release dates are different around the world and this stops people buying a dvd in the US and bringing it back to the UK and selling it before its official UK release date for example. Your choices are either to play the dvds on a PC where often the dvd software will allow you to change region a number of times (be careful though as some players will let you change region say 5 times and then be locked to that region) Or to get hold of or buy a multi region dvd player which plkays dvd'd regardless of their original region Hope that makes sense, good luck
1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
Wait till the unit is at the Samsung logo screen.
2) Open then close the tray, wait to see the No-Disc Message in the top Left Corner
3) Now press the REPEAT button on the remote, followed by a five digit code.
In this case Repeat 29334
4) When it works a 1 will appear in the top left corner
5) Press 9 to make it regionless.
6) Press Eject to OPEN to open the disc tray.
7) Press Eject to CLOSE to close the disc tray.
8) Power the unit off
9) Now power the unit on again, it should now read all regions of DVD Disc.
