Is there an Owners Manual available for this particular little .22 rifle ? Or, an illustration or exploded view that would help me disassemble and reassemble the rifle ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob
Click on this for some links. https://www.google.ca/#q=savage+model+46+22+rifle
Rifles are actually quite un-complicated.
Safety procedures are something that is important and can be learned at you local firearms owners or fish and game club.
Try break free or another penetrating oil and let sit for 24 hours. Then you can clean the parts and lubricate properly. Moisture on the bolt that was poorly lubricated will rust in place. You'll need to clean really well before operating the bolt normally.
Go to the Remington Firearms Co. website. At the top of the page, click on Support, then click on Owners manuals. They list the Remington model 12 as one of the one's they have. It will be a photo copy of the original owners manual.
Type "YourModelNumber" into the "Search for your unit by Model:" window, then click search.
Click the "YourModelNumber" - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link.
Type "YourPartNumber" into the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window, then click search.
I went to the link, input "RPS96" as a model number, eventually selected the "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link. There is a pole assembly pictured (use the parts diagram as a disassembly/reassembly guide) but is applicable to only certain model numbers. It is $45 (please call and ensure it is the entire assembly) plus $20 for shipping.
RemingtonPower is no longer in production, and parts are becoming difficult to find. $65 is a substantial start toward a replacement saw. Eventually you will need parts that are not available.
I had nothing to do with stopping production and should not be punished because you are unhappy with Remington. Whatever you decide Good Luck. HTH Lou
I really do not know why you need a manual or if there's even one available but your best course of action would be to contact Savage as they archive any and all info on their firearms
