I have a whirlpool dryer that won't start. I am renting and the owner doesn't know the model number. The power to the house went out and everything came back on except the dryer. I checked the fuses in the house and they're all fine.

My ge dryer didn't fully dry load and then won't turn on

If you replaced the high limit thermostat on the righ side of the element housing, then you have a venting problem . Check the flapper valve on the outside of the house and the venting behind the dryer. REPLACE THETHERMOSTAT it's a safety device, if the dryer catches fire you will have NO insurance.

My Whirlpool Dryer GEW9868KQS has power, but won't start when the button is depressed. The sensing light comes on, but the dryer doesn't start. Any ideas?

It's probably either the start switch or door switch. Try bypassing the switch and see if it starts. If it does, you can either replace the switch or try taking it apart and fixing the switch yourself. (I had a switch that simply required a copper contact to be readjusted and its worked perfectly for several years)

the belt broke, you can buy a kit with the belt, rollers and pulley, change out everything and you'll be good to go.next time send the model number.good luck.while you have the dryer apart, vac out all the dust and lint and if you have a shop vac put it on blow and blow the motor out and clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, also if your vent line is a long run remove it from the back of the dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower if you have one.

I press the start button on my whirlpool duet dryer and it beeps, but doesn't start

This is a common issue caused by a blown thermal fuse located on the blower housing and wired in series with the motor. Power to the motor is then cut and therefore cannot run. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run. Click on the link below for the complete details of the troubleshooting and repair procedure.

DOES MY WHIRLPOOL DRYER-MODEL NUMBER LX7400W0 HAVE A FUSE? IT TUMBLES BUT IS NOT HEATING.

The model number posted doesn't to exist but one for sure is that all Whirlpool Electric Dryers do have a thermal cut-out (off) which is actually a non-resettable fuse located on the heater housing. Click on the link below then enter the exact model of your dryer then select and click bulkhead and locate the part named thermal cut-out/off, a non-resettable fuse.

MY DRYER WON'T HEAT.

This is usually caused by a blown thermal cut-off which blows and cuts power to the heating element due to the failure of the high limit-thermostat to cycle off and regulate the heating element temperature. Check the dryer for clogged lint screen and/or restricted vent system then replace both thermostats when either of them has failed. Both are located on the blower housing.

Click on the links below for the detailed troubleshooting of this dryer problem. Just follow the instructions that are applicable to your dryer since you did not specify the dryer's exact model number.

I am renting a house that has an old whirlpool stackable washer/dryer combo. The dryer doesn't heat up very much and it takes 3 hours to dry a small load. Landlord had a tech look at it and found...

Under normal operating conditions, the hot air blown into a clothes dryer's tumbler reaches a temperature of about 175 degrees Celsius.
If its getting hot at all, the problem is with the amount of air that it is dispensing, maybe due to the fan not turning or the duct being plugged up.
Either way there is a problem that needs to be examined.

Need manuals

What problem are you having, the problems i have seen with kenmore elites are below.

1. when you press start and release dryer shuts off

for this problem, change the board in the console

2. not producing heat

for this problem, check to see if 220 is getting to element, check to see if you are getting 220 from outlet, check your thermal cutoff on heating housing, check your heater relay which is located in top console.
