I think the problem is your battery pack..or to make sure contact a reliable and skilled computer technician handling the trouble personally is much better to make sure it will be fixed in no time..

Make sure your Acer works with a different monitor. Check Device Manager in the Windows Control panel and maybe update the monitor/graphics card driver.
Just re-install the software again and your are done with this issue. Use the recovery disc that came with the computer or use a new Operating System disc be sure it is Windows that originally came or compatible with your computer. Then you can start fresh without any password needed until you do another one, HINT: I use my last four digits of my social so that I will never forget my password ever.

Doesnt power off: I think your front-panel cables arent connected properly.(the picture might be wrong, because not all front-panels are the same)
No video signal: The problem isn't with your monitor, it's wth your video card, motherboard, CPU or power supply. Do you get the single beep at startup?
