Aug 12, 2013 - Solved: Today I turned on my Sony camera ( I've owned for 8 months )... How to change the mystery language 'back' to English as I can't read it ...
May 23, 2014 - Someone has gotten into the setting on my camera and changed the settings from english to chinese. I wouldnt have a clue how to change it ...
May 19, 2014 - Since your camera is most likely a Japan model, English may not be... However, you may try to check the language setting of the camera to confirm. ....So I should learn japanese or sell my camera to someone who knows?
Pretty sure you should be able to put in some new firmware, but I can't find any hint. Not in the manual, not with Sony. Perhaps you should register the camera, and contact Sony with the question how to change the firmware so you have multi language. Just tell them you got the camera as a present from your friends (associate or what ever) from Japan but you can't work with the language.
Changing language settings on digital cameras sometimes can be confusing. We will have to make use of the menu symbols so that we can change the language from Japanese to English. The picture below shows us the navigation buttons that we will use in this process.
1. Press the MENU button
2. Choose .
3. Choose
4. Choose
5. Choose English.
I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!
I
bought a camera in Japan (Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1) and now it seems that i
can't change the language from japanese to english. If i select (can't
read it but with the help of the english digital guide i think i have
the right menu)change language, there seems to be only one language
available. -japanese- How do I solve this?
Researched this extensively. you cannot change the camera to english. sony camera's bought in japan (or from the internet from japanese suppliers are not multi language. they supply a japanese version and an international version. the japanese version is cheaper (nationalistic thing). there is no firmware either to upgrade it. best thing to do is download the manual and become familiar with it.
Hey reynante, You should be able to change the language back to English under the settings menu which starts on page 62 of your camera manual and the language setting manual is designated by a letter A inside of a box as shown on page 69 of your camera manual. I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera manual in case you need it. I hope this helps! http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCW80 Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead.
