The door on my fridgidaire atf8000fs1 sags so it doesn't shut correctly. I've had to order a new door striker since the last one broke off. How do I adjust it so it hangs correctly?

Frigidaire washer door sagging so strike and door lock not lining up correctly. After a period of time front load washer doors tend to start to drop below normal position. The glass in the front doors are very thick, heavy and only supported by plastic inner frame. This combined with continued opening and closing will over time make your front load door start to sage. Fortunately Frigidaire makes a door shim kit for this problem.

After you have ordered and received the shim kit part #137309800. Start with removing the three screws holding the door to the machine. Lay the door face down on a soft surface as to no scratch the front of the door and glass. Remove the screws securing the outer frame and with a very small flat screw driver shim it between the inner and outer panels. Make sure to note the position of the frame and glass. Next remove the inner plastic frame, you should have access to the hinge at this point. Install the shim kit according to the instructions that come with the kit. Reinstall the hinge, inner frame and screws. Install the door back onto the washer, your door strike and lock should line up in the correct position at this time.

SOURCE: I have an ATF8000FS1 front

There is next to no adjustments so if the door dropped then the hinge must be bent . You may be able to very gently pull up on the door and re-align it but most likely you will have to replace the hinge.

SOURCE: my daughter slammed the door

Hello, Welcone to FixYa. I'm not sure if you are aware of it, but the plastic striker is there to not only lock the door but activate the machine once locked. Chances are the latch/switch assembly was damaged as well and will require replacing too. The part can be had on-line or many local part vendors and It really isnt too difficult, the greatest challenge being the removal and re-fastening the door bellows/boot gasket spring. I do have a pretty descriptive instruction if you think you'd like to attempt it. Let me know what you find and I will help going forward any way I can. I hope that helps. Good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

SOURCE: Fridgidaire FWT449GFS2: My front loader

The machine will not advance to the spin cycle unless the wash water is drain properly and the auxiliary spin switch within the door lock/switch assembly is activated. The first thing to check is the coin trap hose; the big black hose connection the bottom of the tub and the drain pump. Consider replacing the door lock/switch assembly if no issue is found with the coin trap hose and the drain pump.

Unplug the machine or disconnect power and remove the screws attaching the bottom front panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off. Prop up the front bottom edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access the screws more easily. Drain the tub first, if necessary, by placing the end of the drain hose over a container positioned as low as possible to extract as much water.

Loosen the clamps securing the
coin trap hose to the bottom of the tub and the drain pump inlet then clean and remove any debris stuck therein. Please a piece of towel underneath to catch residual water. Inspect the pump impeller by turning it with your finger. The impeller may be restricted or damaged resulting in water not pumped out properly. Replace the pump if the impeller is broken or restricted and doesn't turn freely. Reassemble the machine by following the steps above in reverse order. I'm getting flashing error code on washer. It's flashing " DE" Thanks! Sam Singleton

If you've already tried to unplug the machine and that didn't correct the issue, the door latch assembly will need to be ordered and replaced to fix the issue. The latch assembly is just not reading that the dor is shut properly even though it is.

It doesn't matter if it appears to work or not--it's not giving the correct signal to the control board after it locks to tell the control board that the door is latched and shut and ready to start the wash cycle. This is why you need to replace the latch assembly.

1989 s10 blazer the door handle broke off we went threw the window to unlock the door. We lost the small spring that unlatches the door from the frame. I got the door finally open with a screw driver....

the interior trim will come off to gain access to the lost part. Get a telescopic magnet which will retreive this part. If it is the striker the latch hits and keeps the door safley shut That is what I think your refering to. The striker bolts to the B pillar which keeps the door shut. Also the striker should cost no more than $15 to 20 $$ to replace. Maybe less

Here's something that might help you. Look at the door theres a little hook that grabs the striker on car, hold the door handle "open" and move the hook to the open position try to close the door. That should solve your problem. Hope that helps you.

The way I repaired one recently is I removed the door, set the door on the counter, removed the hinge screws inserted liquid 2 part epoxy in to the screw holes and then reinserted the screws, let that set up for a few hours and then repeated the same but with the machine side holes, you can help support the door with some tape until the machine side epoxies dries. Good luck

The locking mechanism on the drivers side door,is locked in the closed positin.Cant get door to shut?

cheffenwolfb, What you need to do is to take a screwdriver and put it in the catch in place of the locking striker. Pull the door handle to the open position and pull the locking catch open with the screwdriver. Try the door a few times to be sure that it doesn't do it again. A little lubrication on the catch wouldn't hurt. Good luck with this.

Both the freezer and fridge doors hinge on the right, and the left hand side has sagged a little so neither neither door is sealing properly. How do I adjust the doors to raise the left side of the...

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it's wore out and doesn't work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

Oven door won't stay closed

You don't state the exact model but on every oven I've ever fixed this problem on it's a broken door striker catch. Depending on your model, the catch will either be in the oven door or in the oven body; usually they're straightforward to replace but on older ovens spares can be almost as rare as dodo ****. Usually what breaks is a hardened tempered metal spring, so when they're not available as spares I can usually visit a local spring making company and get someone to make one up as a one-off using the fragments of the old one as a pattern. After the catch has been replaced the striker itself (usually a specially shaped pin) may need to be adjusted to engage correctly once more. Undoing the lock nut and screwing it in and out adjusts the depth, and is done after the striker catch has been adjusted side to side or up and down to meet the centre of the striker.
