Does ANYTHING work? Sure it's plugged in, breaker not tripped and GFI plug not tripped?
Plug something else into the outlet to confirm that it works.
Unplug from wall for 30 minutes to reset Bosch to defaults.
Still malfunctioning? Main control board is faulty.

SOURCE: control panel for freezer and refrigerator

Behind the back panel of the freezer section is the evaperator assembly. on the rh side of the evaperator is a sensor pack that is for the defrost cycle. there is a thermo fuse inside of this pack that is open. The fridge goes into an error state if this fuse is open. unplugging the fridge resets the system. the sensor pack will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: Maytag Ice20 refrigerator

There's a very detailed guide explaining how to fix this yourself for about $5 in parts. Some basic experience with soldering is helpful.

My Maytag dealer did not offer to fix for free, so I resorted to doing it myself rather than spend $300-$400.

Alarm keeps sounding every 2.5 minutes, it works fine on electric, gas and battery and is 12 months old.

Fridge keeps beeping: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

Refrigerator part of coil freezing up, what would be the problem?

2) Some refrigerators contain timers that control the self-defrosting heaters. Unfortunately, it can be hard to find the timer, depending on the model of your refrigerator. In most cases, side-by-side refrigerators that have temperature control knobs at the top of the fridge compartment often have the defrost timer located near the thermostat behind the control knobs. It looks like a small, round object with one flat end that has four electrical prongs. It is also often located in the control panel, behind the fridge or behind the foot kick panel at the base of the appliance. Use a flathead screwdriver to advance the timer until you hear a click. This should start the defrost heater. If it doesn't, the timer probably needs to be replaced. Continue to turn it clockwise and a second click will be heard, which turns off the defrost heater. If the timer isn't clicking, simply pull it out and "plug in" a new timer.refrigerators that don't have timers have control panels that control the self-defrosting unit instead. The control panel can sometimes be tested using the controls on the water dispenser or by removing the rear of the front panel to access the controls. A simple press of the button will run several diagnostics that will test your defrost timer, thermostat and heater. The specific instructions vary depending on the model of your Kenmore refrigerator. Consult your owner's manual to run the diagnostics if you have a control panel in your refrigerator.

You need to cycle your freezer display to indicate 0 and your refrigerator display to 7.

Control and Sensor System Self-Test (0 7)

This test checks all five thermistors located throughout the unit. Once the test is initiated, the test code (0 7) will stop flashing and the thermistor test results will appear on the freezer display in the test order listed below. The thermistor test sequence number will not be shown on the display.

If the unit is not equipped with the Quick Chill option, the third thermistor (quick chill) will display a 0 and 3 audible beeps will sound at the temperature control panel. This is not a failure if the unit is not equipped with the Quick Chill option.

Thermistor test results:

• P = Pass

• 0 = Failed

• S = Short to 5 VDC

• B = Bad amplifier

Thermistor test sequence is:

1. Fresh food top thermistor

2. Fresh food bottom thermistor

3. Quick chill thermistor (displays 0 if unit is not equipped with Quick Chill option)

4. Evaporator thermistor

5. Freezer thermistor

Note: Thermistor test results will be displayed in the sequence shown above. The thermistor test sequence number will not be shown on the display.

Note the failures if any. Should ANY of thermistors fail you must replace it.

Having said that... at this point your stick with doing a manual defrost by unplugging the unit and directing a fan into the compartment for just over 2 hours to make sure ALL of the ice on the coils and in the drains has melted. (Yes it makes a water mess!)

After the manual defrost restart the unit / plug it in and once the compressor starts listen for the evaporator fan when the door switch is actuated and the condenser fan in the bottom of the unit any time the compressor is running. If either of the fans are not running you must find out why. Can be a door switch, motor winding or power to the motor. The door switch does not affect the condenser fan.

Finally if the unit is not automatically defrosting due to a component failure... i.e

Heater, themistor, or wiring you will see ice build up again in 2 to 3 days again and you will have to keep going through the manual defrosting routine until the automatic defrosting problem is resolved.

We just purchased a ge profile refrigerator today, and cannot get it off of demo mode

You have to go into the Diagnostic mode to see if you can reset this issue or if the main board in back is bad. Here's how to do it:

To enter Self Diagnostic mode, both temperature control panel displays must be illuminated. A display can be illuminated by pressing an adjacent temperature adjustment button. When both displays are illuminated, set the freezer and refrigerator temperature settings to 5. Simultaneously press and hold all 4 temperature adjustment buttons for approximately 3 seconds. A flashing 0 in the refrigerator and freezer displays will indicate that the refrigerator is in Self Diagnostic mode.

For temperature control panels with single-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers up and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers down. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test. Press the HOLD button for 3 seconds to begin the test.

For temperature control panels with 3-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers down and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers up. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test code. Press any button other than a temperature adjust button to begin the test.

First, run the control and thermistor test:

When testing has been completed, do the following :
• Enter code 1 5 to completely reset the system. Then press the Hold button (or any other button than a temperature button) to accept the code.

When you're done, unplug the refrigerator for 10 seconds and plug it in....if it does not run, the board is bad.
