How can I graph sine and cosine waves on my TI-84 Plus? I can see the Theta symbol on the "X,T, "Theta",n" button. But whenever I try to graph a function, it doesn't work. Please help! I'm not really sure what I am doing...

When you graph functions y=f(x), even if f(x) is a trigonometric function, the default independent variable is x. You will have to use the variable theta only when drawing polar functions.
To draw the sine and cosine or any other trigonometric function set the angle unit to radians and window zoom to standard. If your angle unit is degree you must modify the x-window range to, say, multiples of 180 degrees. Other than that there is nothing special to do. The functions are well-behaved and should graph nicely. You will alos get a better view if Ymin is about -1.2 and Ymax is about 1.2

X= disappeared from the Y=

You have several types of graphs
Function graphs
Y_1=f(x), Y1=3X^2-4, [X, T, Theta, n] key types X
Polar graphs r=F(theta), r=r_o*ln(theta). [X, T, Theta, n] types Theta
Parametric graphs X_1=f(T) and Y_1=g(T). [X.T, Theta, n] types T
Examples: X_1= cos(T). Y_1= 2(1--sin(T))
Sequence graphs u_n+1= f(u_n), [X,T,Theta,n] types n

Sine graph is straight

If the angle unit is set to degrees and you use the standard window dimensions (Xmin=-10, Xmax=10) then all you will see is a straight line: Between 0 and 10 degrees, the sine is approximately equal to 0 and the cosine is about 1.

To see the features of the trigonometric functions you must do one of the following
  1. Set angle to degree but set window dimensions to span the domain -180 to 180 or larger.
  2. Set windows dimensions to the standard -10, 10 range but set angle degree to radians

How do I get the other symbols from the X, T, O, n button?

It depends on the context and the configuration of the graph type. If the graph type is function y=f(x) then pressing the button will type in the X-variable. If the graph type is polar then pressing the key will type the theta symbol. The T-symbol is enacted when graph type is parametric, and the n-variable when you are drawing sequences.
When you press the MODE button, you open a screen that configures the calculator. On the 4th line in that screen, you see FUNC, PAR, POL, SEQ.

I'm trying to do inverse sine and cosine equations but I'm receiving a message that there is a domain error. Is there anything I can do or press like a reset button?

The inverse sine and cosine equations mean "angle who's sine/cosine is:" The bounds of the arguments for these functions must be between 1 and -1, the maximum and minimum values of the sine and cosine functions, because no angle can have a sine or cosine that is greater than 1 or smaller than -1. Also it should be noted that the inverse sine/cosine function is not the same as 1/sine or 1/cosine, although the symbol makes it look like that.

How to insert an unknown (x) in an exponential finction in order to graph an exponential function...?? i need an answer please

To enter a variable in a function definition, you can press the [X,T, Theta, n] to the right of the [ALPHA] key.
If your function mode is y=f(X), the key will type X. If function mode is parametric, the key will type T, and if the graph mode is polar or sequence, the [X,T,Theta,n] key will type Theta, or n, respectively.

For any other symbol use the [ALPHA] entry mode.

Graphing trig functions

Put the calculator in radian mode and it will graph trig functions just fine. If you don't know how to change it to radians, then go to mode and cursor over to select radians. I am assuming you know where the sine, cosine, tangent, etc. keys are.
