Taking a guess is all that is possible...
The drum bearings have seized.
Something has broken and jammed the drum drive pulley.
Something has become jammed between the washtub and drum.
Your next step is to remove the top of the cabinet and examine the drive, ensure the motor still spins ok and the belt is intact, pulley not broken, etc.
If you find nothing wrong the task becomes fairly major as the cabinet will probably need dismantling in order to remove the front of the washtub for a closer inspection.

There is a bearing at the back of the machine that normally goes.don't just replace the bearing.buy a complete bearing kit and replace that.

these washers are a swine to dis-assemble and i would not recommend it unless you are experienced. on most indesit, the bearings are in a spider bolted to the outside of the tub. take the back off and see if you can localise the noise to the bearings worthwhile also taking the heater out (one nut in the middle), peer in and check no foreign object causing the noise

maybe the drive belt is off/broken. Take the back off to check

Is it a maytag? My maytag front load washing machine had 2 long bolts with plastic braces on them, to keep the drum still during shipping. Mine would bang and shake all over. I got the book out before I finally figured it out. I had to take the back cover off and remove the bolts and plastic braces over them. They look like they' 8 inches long or so. It works great now.
