Here are a few things to try.
First, I'd check whether the students put the data
into lists other than L1 and L2. If you do SinReg
with no arguments, the machine defaults to using L1
and L2.
Second, check degree versus radian mode.
Third, I have had problems in the past with SinReg
when the data were *too good*. I think a singular
matrix might be the culprit in a case like this, but I
doubt that's the problem here. If you think it might
be, try deleting every other data point and try the
regression again.

what helped for me is leaving it w/h any battery's (no backup battery either) for a few days. Now miraculously it works!
