EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NOT PULL OF THE FLOAT BOWL YOU CAN STILL DRAIN IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARB THER IS A SCREW,SHUT GAS OFF AND LET DRAIN TILL IT STOPSAND RETIGHTEN,ALSO YOU COULD FLIP CARB UPSIDE DOWN AND TAP ON SCREWDRIVER AS YOU ARE TURNING AND IT SHOULD FRE UP,IF YOU HAVE DAMAGED THE THREADS TAKE A FLAT PUNCH AND TAP ON TOP OF THE SCREWS ,THAT WILL HELP BREAK LOOSE AND ALSO PUSH YOUR PHILLIPS HEAD THREADS BACK IN PLACE,VERY SWEET TRICK,JUST DONT STAB YOURSELF.YOU CAN CHECK CHOKE BY PULLING OUT OF CARB ANDDO A BEEP TEST ,BEEP GOOD NO BEEP BAD,AND IF YOU DO GET YOUR FLOAT BOWL OFF BE SURE TO TAKE JETS OUT AND SEE DAYLIGHT THRU THEM,ESP.THE PILOT JET OR SOME CALL THE SLOW JET-HOPE I HAVE HELPED SOME

I changed my water pump on my 2004 3.4 Impala I forgot to disconnect the negative terminal after I got it changed I went to start my car And I have no ignition power?

Anti-theft has nothing to do with it ,disconnecting the battery won't do anything either . You left something disconnected or by not disconnecting the battery you blew a main fuse somewhere some how. You had to take a few things apart to get at the water pump. You need to find battery power distribution wiring diagrams an check with a voltmeter. See it all the time ,rookies

Washermaytagpav3240aww turn on machine to fill went out to pu lined laundry came back washer is fill with water but will do nothing smell something odd check circurt breaker ok is it the motor

The motors on these machines are pretty sturdy and I would check a couple of things before replacing it. The first thing is to unplug the washer for safety, then check the operation of the lid lock switch. You can do that with an ohm meter. If the lid switch tests good check the wiring on the motor and look for melted spots on the connector this is a good sign of a wiring or connector problem. I hope this helps.

Alternator was accidently shorted out, got new alternator and didn't work, when it went out naturally just put a new one on. checked fuses inside and out but couldn't find one for the alternator....

There is a problem with the connections , ckeck the plug in connector , pull on wires at connector . Check with continuity tester , or ohm meter also check wire from altenator to battery ...

I bought a 2008 leftover 150cc wildfire atv in june 2009 when i went to pick it up it had a tough time starting i was told it was old gas but i drained it and put new gas with a little carb cleaner in it...

That can be caused buy a number of things but it being November in all i would say to check for condensation in your fuel lines, I personally would not recommend mixing the carb cleaner with the gas but instead make sure lines are free of condensation, proceed with refueling with mid grade gas or regular doesn't really matter, and while having a friend or family member start the motor spray the carb cleaner a little at a time into the carburetor and it should give it that start boost it needs to get running and also check the chock and make sure the air filter is not clogged up.. Hope this helps.. Thanks

Washer stopped working all together

Hi,Check your water solenoid valve, the part where you connect (2) hoses, could be burnt out, sometimes they do, especially if your water pressure home (building) is low, or could be your motor, remove back of machine and check water valve, check valve with ohm tester, or visual check can tell you, if burnt out, replace it, few things could burnt out, motor, capacitor, switches/relay etc, but first check water intake (solenoid) valve, also, check / reset, fuse/circuit breaker, probably went of, when burning smell occurs, ( happened) if it's not your water intake valve, let me know, we can check other possibilities. but i believe it's your valve, good luck.

My 1974 250 2 stroke will not start. I have a new

With a bike that is 35 years old lots of things could be the problem. I will list what to look for in a "most likely" sequence but with a mind to some of the easy things to check first.
  • Got gas and is it turned on? Clean air filter?
  • Have a buddy kick the starter while you look for spark.
  • Assuming no spark, How good is your battery? Fuses good? Kill switch on or shorted to the bars or elsewhere?
  • carb, head, intake manifold and carb mounted tight?
  • Does the carb intake manifold have reeds? What condition are they in?
  • I don't recall for sure, does the bike have CDI? If so, have the dealer test it and the coil.
  • If no CDI, when was the last time the points and condenser were replaced or points filed and set? Get the coil checked.
  • Remove the flywheel cover. Take hold of the flywheel and, without turning the wheel, lift the flywheel up and down then left and right. Any movement or was the flywheel rock solid? If movement then the crank bearings need replaced along with the crank seals.
  • Speaking of crank seals, how old are your seals? The bike ain't gonna run with bad seals.
This is a pretty good list of things that should keep you busy for a few hours. Wish I were there to help. It's been a long time since I serviced an old Yamaha 250. I was a shop mechanic for ten years.

Let me know what you find out.

TV will not turn on

Good Morning Chris,
OK, first of all lets unplug the TV and wait 15 minutes for the High Voltage to discharge.
Remove the back and follow the power cord to the power supply. Somewhere around there you should find a fuse. (there may be more than one) get a bright light to look inside and try to find as many fuses as you can. Remove each fuse one at a time and check them with an ohm meter.
If you don't get a good solid reading on any of them replace the fuse or fuses with the exact same rating. Even if you get a reading and the display is jumping around and will not stablize, replace the fuse. Usually a good fuse taken out of the circuit will display a good steady reading on the meter.
I hope this solves your problem.
Have a great day!

Start but wont rev

underwater. but pulled it out later and got it to start that night. My problem is after its starts i give it gas and nothing happens, just makes a bogging sound. my spark is good, i dont have points on this year motor and the timing has been idiot proofed so it really cant be changed. went through my carbs three times thinking its a fuel thing, but they looked pretty damn good. flushed the tank till clean, and xleaned up some corrosion from when it went under. transistoriized ignition, unadjustable mix carbs and a nontampering timing(right). im missing to much summer, any ideas, anyone.,water/moisture in the crankcase?? bad lubrication due to fudged up oil?? Im not even sure why putting it in water can offset your timing, unless its electronically controlled by one of the new fangled hall effect timing systems,,,

not much info as tv went out?? do you know how to work on tvs?? Ok if not the best thing you can do is call a pro Bro. as these sets no a days do not have any user serviceable parts in them and do not have replace ment moduale due to popular belief. Ok to the set at hand if and only if your a tech!!? Could be as simple as a bad connection on the Horizontal driver transformer or driver transistor. First thing to check if its completely dead is the main power supply. Good Luck
