I have a new DVR 622 reciever, the UHF remote(TV2) does not work at all, I have tried to program it, but itdoes not seem to work.(does the TV2 need to be hooked up to the receiver to et the remote to work) My second question is this, I have been recording programs and they are recording under TV2, but without the remote working I cannot watch any of them, how can I get the recordings to be watched on TV1. My third question is TV2 seems to be the dominate TV, when ever I turn on the receiver and tv, I have to go to set up and change the TV setting to TV1 to be able to watch TV. I just got this receiver and do like the way it works, but I can't get the set up that I need to watch my recordings. Thanks, Rich

Hi Rich, myname is Mike Houston of DISH Network and after going over your post I see theTV2 remote as well as other issues with TV2. There is a easy fix to this so youcan enjoy both TV's, on the receiver you will want to make sure it's in DualMode, you will see a Yellow, Blue and Green lights on the front of thereceiver. I will send a link to help with the steps of setting up the remoteand making sure the TV2 is configured correctly and on the right channel. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/troubleshoot

I get the dish network screen on # 2 tv and have lost the remote I can't get # 1 tv remote to change the channel. Is there any way to program the remote for tv 1 to change the channel on tv 2.

smithgrvtn,

It is possible to get your TV1 remote to work TV2, but it would have to be a model 6.0/6.3/6.4. If it is not one of those models you would need to have a remote ordered and sent out; then it would work. If your remote is one of the above models; I have included the steps to get that done.

Changing Remote from UHF-to-IR and IR-to-UHF:

1.) Verify correct model of remote and it is IR/UHF compatible. Remove tab from bottom of remote. For TV1: Green Tab with Green 1 in it. For TV2: Blue tab with 2 and black UHF in it.

2.) Push correct tab into remote, and go to your main TV.

3.) Access System Information either with a remote, Sys Info button on front of receiver, or powering it off and pressing the up arrow.

4.) Press and hold the gray SAT button until all buttons on top light up. Release and while the light is blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press Pound(#)

5.) Press Record 3 times and check to see if the address changed to the number you chose. Verify remote works.

If you have any other questions you can let me know here; or at [email protected] and I would be happy to see what else can be done!

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are trying to use a second TV without a remote or if you are trying to set up TV 2. The two remotes are different so, they will not perform on both Tv's. Please gine me more info on what you are trying to do.

DISH DVR doesn't respond to remote

  1. If this is a TV2 location take the remote to the location of the DVR.
  2. Open the door on the right side of your receiver.
  3. Press SYS INFO.
  4. Press Record multiple times on your remote.
  5. Exit the screen and see if the remote works, if not replace the batteries and repeat steps 1-4
  6. If the remote still doesnt work, and this is a tv2 location (no receiver in the room with the tv) check the antenna on the back of your receiver, make sure that it is connected tightly and standing straight up.
  7. If none of this works call Dish and ask for a new remote.

My dvr remote 2 has been taken over by my other tv2 remote is there a way activate the former remote? I just had a hdtv dual dvr installed and a new dual reciever. I already had a dual dvr. When I had the...

Unplug one of the receivers. Now go to the second and with the TV1 remote press MENU-MENU and you will see the two remote addresses displayed. On the TV 2 remote that is associated to turn off the TV2 with this receiver press and hold the SAT button on the top left of the remote until all the buttons across the top illuminate. Now key in a two digit number that differs from the one for TV2 displayed on the screen. Now press the pound sign and the SAT button will flash three times. Next press the small record button until the TV2 address changes to the correct two digit number. Now you should be able to turn the other receiver back on and be able to control each TV2 independent of each other. Thanks for using Fix Ya. If you need further assistance let me know.

DishNetwork IR Remote Control Problem

First the only way the 6.3 will work is if it has the green number 1 on the tab facing you. Assuming this is the case you will need a new remote. This primarily is the remote for the second room away from the receiver. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

My IR remote no longer works in another room

Dawn,
If you want a remote that works via IR to control the satellite receiver you will need a IR only. The IR/UHF type only transmits signals to the receiver by UHF and the IR portion only operates the peripherals in the room such as the TV and VCR. There are some remotes that come with a kit that can change the remote to work as an IR only. I believe you have a TV2 remote and want it to work further away from the receiver particularly the room the TV is in. If this is the case you may have have to change the remote address of the new remote to match that of the old. You can do this by taking the number one remote and pressing menu-menu. Now take the new remote and press and hold the SAT button in the upper left of the remote until all lights across the top light up. Now key in the two digit number on the tv screen at remote address for tv2. Then press the pound sign and the SAT button will flash three times then press the record button and the TV2 icon should flash. Now you can cancell out of the screen on tv one and try the remote at the TV2 location. I believe this will fix your issue if not let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Hi,my brand new UHF remote wont operate the #2 tv??

Go to the tv 1 location with your TV2 remote. Turn TV1 on and using TV1's remote press menu-menu. You will be at the System Info Screen. Take TV2 REMOTE and press and hold the SAT button on the top left until all buttons on the top light up. Release the SAT button. Now key in a two digit number from 1to 16 and press the # key. The SAT button will flash three times. Now press the record button until the remote address for TV2 changes to the number you chose. When accomplished exit out of the screen with th TV1 remote and you should now be able to control TV 2. As a precaution ensure the remote antenna is on the back of the receiver. If you still have difficulty it may be required to move the remote antenna closer to TV2. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can of further assistance.
