I am getting the F1 alarm . How do I access control assembly. ksthan
First off I hope you have a Sears unit and second you did not pay a penny. Your F 1 error is a Primary control failure. Part W10104830 and one other do F1 and a oL code.
If you own a Sears machine you qualify for a recall under sf26-779B.
There is two parts to this call the board and a washplate
MCU part # W10201186
Washplate # W10077050
Recall will need your name and phone number and the machine model and serial number.
If you meet all of these conditions to the letter call Sears Recall at 1-800-659-7026
Hello & Welcome to FixYa
F1 error in your whirlpool cabrio indicates bad
control and should be replaced to resolve the error code. However, you can
contact Whirlpool as well prior to replacing the control yourself as I have
seen whirlpool paying for the parts themselves just because this is known to be
a common issue. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Whirlpool has offered to pay for the part ,but it must be installed by a certified technician. Service call and labor will run you $150 . So if you buy the part and install it yourself its about the same. Anyway, whirlpool should be doing more since this is obviously a defect.
Same F1 deal here. I thought this interesting... The technician came out today and replaced the
Control Unit Assembly (Part W10104830) with a "revised" Control Unit Assembly (Part W10201186 Rev A).
It was the opinion of the technician that the original part contained a known defect (or defects); hence a new "revised" replacement part. Part cost 143.74.
Whirlpool should PAY for this part!!!
at for the part And the repairmen fee as well. What kind of BS is this, where you have to pay for a very expansive Washer and when it get's a Recall, The customer has to pay for a cheap made part that probably came from China then You have to pay for the installation of that part as well.
B.S. Guess, I'll have to make a call to my Layer. Anyone up for a Class Action suit?
Yes, I agree it is BS and my husband knows how to repair it, and it didn't work because it's simply a big piece of JUNK.
