You can't rotate the toner cartridges manually without potentially damaging the printer. To get the cartridges to rotate, close the door and go through the following sequence:

- Press Menu Select to get to the main menu
- Go to the Print Menu
- Go to the Quality Menu
- Select Replace Toner
- Use the arrows to select Black
- When the display says "Black" press Menu Select
- Press it again, the display should read "Open door and replace black toner"

Now the black toner should be positioned to be replaced, and you should be good to go!

I have a Konica Minolta Magicolor 1650en. When replacing color toner, I managed to install magenta and yellow, following menu prompts, but when I try to install Cyan, the cartridge doesn't...

I had a similar problem in that after changing one of the cartridges (I bought a whole set), the message "cannot rotate cartridge" appeared. I tried pressing the cartridge in more firmly and may have caused the carousel to rotate a little in the process. I cycled the power which seemed to clear the error message and allowed me to select the next cartridge to change, but upon opening the door to change it, was unable to remove the old one as it was positioned a little too high. I eventually cleared the problem by manually rotating the carousel by pressing in and holding the carousel release (see arrow) mmgazette.jpgwhile rotating the carousel downward slightly, to line the cartridge up as it appears in this picture. Then powered it back up and was able to do the normal cartridge replacement procedure for the remaining cartridges without further error messages.

The black toner needs replacing but I can't get to it. The Cyan toner is at the front and I can't move it round to get to the black! It's an Epson Aculaser C1100

there maybe a cartridge replacement button to drag the print head etc out of the way so you can get at the cartridges.

I hope this was helpful

I bought a new ink cartridge, but cannot find my manual. How do you change the cartridge???

Changing an HP Ink Cartridge
  • 1

Open the lid of the printer. Depending on the model, there will be two cartridges on the right, one for black and one for color.

  • 2

Find the cartridge that is running low on ink. The black cartridge will be in black, the color cartridge will have a patch of color (usually green) on it.

  • 3

Pull down on the black clamp that is holding the cartridge in place and slide out the used cartridge.

  • 4

Open the package of the new ink cartridge. Remove the protective tape and slide the new cartridge into the printer.

  • 5

Snap the black protective case back into place and close the lid.

How do you change out the black toner?

If you can not rotate the toners by using the DISPLAY MENU,

You can rotate them MANUALLY, using a flat head screwdriver or even a key for your car or front door.

    Open Front Cover/Door of Printer

    Remove Waste Toner Box

Where you see the side of the Blue Cartridge, look to the LEFT and locate a small rectangle with a circle inside it.

Push your car key or flat head screwdriver into this rectangle and the circle will push back and release the lock on the cartridge, holding in with one hand and turning cartridge with the other hand until you get the cartridge you want to replace.

Remove the screwdriver / car key and pull out the empty cartridge and replace with new one.

Replace Waste Toner Box, close front cover/door, switch on and the printer will rotate back itself to it's normally position...... JOB DONE

How do I change black toner? Blue is accessible but how do I get it to rotate?

I have opened and closed the front door a number of times so that the cartridges rotate to different positions. It's trial and error until the right color is in the position to be changed.

I can't find my manual--model C4280-----I need to replace the black ink cartridge---I've got the door open and can see the cartridges---how do I release them to come out?? Thanks, Dennis Crawford

    To replace the print cartridges
    1.
Make sure the HP All-in-One is on.
CAUTION: If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door to
access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the cartridges for
changing. You might damage the HP All-in-One if the print cartridges are not
docked safely when you try to remove them.
    2. Make sure you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
    3. Open the print cartridge door.
The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One.
    4. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print
    cartridge to release it.
If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the
    slot on the left.
If you are replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from
    the slot on the right.
1 Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge
2 Print cartridge slot for the black and photo print cartridges
    5. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot.
    6. If you are removing the black print cartridge in order to install the photo print cartridge,
store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an airtight plastic
    container.
    7. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch only
the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
If you go here you can download the user manual.
