You may follow the following steps:

  1. Connect your Phone to PC using USB and select "Disk drive" on the pop-up menu at phone.
  2. At your PC, browse My Computer just like any USB storage device. The pictures you've taken is usually found at F:\dcim\100MEDIA (the drive letter may vary), or better yet search for *.jpg

I've owned a Wildfire for some 3 years and there is no one thing which works. It has a mind of it's own. Somtimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It is a well known problem with this phone. Just google it and see how many tens of thousands of other people are having the problem. Simple answer is to do what I do. Use a digital camera and get rid of the HTC phone. There's nothing worse than having something which isn't reliable. If I owned a car which would only work some days and not others when there was no driver error and no fault but it was just a quirk of that particular model, it would be gone. Same as my wildfire is going to be gone and I shal be getting a different make with less issues.

Unable to download photos from HTC Wildfire onto laptop.

Connect your wildfire via a usb to your laptop. Then choose either from the pop up or the drop down notification bar to connect and share files via usb. Your pc would recognize your smartphone as a flash driver and you can transfer pictures normaly.
