MT27 has a noisy fan operation. Doesn't always make the clacking sound, tried leveling the machine, cleaned condenser coils. We bought this unit 2nd had for our church's food pantry to keep the meat cold on days of operation. It's so loud that we all breathe a sigh of relief when the Deacon unplugs it. Should I replace the fan blade? Is it the motor?

There are a couple of possibilities that could be causing this. I believe it is the fan blade. One could be that bracket that holds the fan motor in places could have loose screws, which would cause vibration. Another is that the mounting for the fan motor to the bracket could be loose. Another could be that the fan blade itself is slightly bent. Check the motor brackets screws, fan mounting screws and the blades. If all those are good, making sure the unit is unplugged you can turn the fan blade by hand slowly to see if it is dragging anywhere on the shroud around the coil or the coil itself. You could slightly bend the "clacking" blade to clear is that is the issue.

I need to replace the condenser fan motor in a model MT27 Beverage Air Cooler. This motor is behind the evaporator coils and extremely hard to get to.

sounds like you need a professional. condenser is outside, evaporator is inside. what is your question, do you need me to come hold it?

Condenser Fan Shuts off after 15-20min, Compressor continues to run but gets hot

Condenser fan motor or motor wiring is bad. That compressor should never run without the fan. Good luck.

I bought this unit on 13 August 2009. The unit runs, the bucket is in place, the filter is clean, but it doesn't remove any moisture from the air. The unit is in the basement in the exact same place it...

There are 5 basic, yet solvable reasons for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2..

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder
level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

The front of fridge frame where both doors shut on it and the coresponding door seals are very hot to the touch but fridge seems to be workinf ok

Hi and welcome to Fixya. I am Kelly.

When the front of a unit is getting very warm to the touch it means that the condenser coils in the back are not being cooled properly.

Open the rear fiberboard cover in the back of the unit and check for lint in the coils and that the condenser fan is running when the compressor is on. Most of the time it is just lint build up on the condenser coils causing this symptom. However the fan can be stuck or not operating. If it is stiking or running slow you can lubricate it with Union 76 turbine oil / Zoom spout turbine oiler. DO NOT use regular oil or the motor will eventually stop working.

I am pretty sure if you clean everything up in the back of the unit that it will work just fine.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I have a Beverage Air model MT 27. Coils have been cleaned and recharged with freon. Cooler will not cool below 50 degrees?

You'll need to check the back-pressure on the low-side of the system, you have a faulty compressor. If there is a condenser fan motor make sure it is running when the compressor is on.

Home Air Condition cooling problem

Hello. If your outdoor coils are dirty it's a good chance the indoor coils are dirty also. Clean the indoor coils and flush out the condensate line.
I know it's tempting to feel the air and try to decide if the unit is working properly but, you need to use a thermometer and while the unit is running check the temperature at the return air vent and then check the temperature at the supply vent closest to the unit. Remember to let the thermometer set for about 5 minutes before reading.
You should be looking for about 15 degrees F cooling between the return and supply.
If your coils are clean make sure the outdoor fan is operating properly. The air coming out of the outdoor fan should feel warm, almost hot. If not you may need to check your pressures. Good luck and let me know what you find.

Compressor will not start.

Usually short cycling means that High side pressure is getting to high (due to not working condenser fan, or dirty condenser coil), or low side pressure is getting too low (might have low level of freon or restriction in sealed system). low side would drop dramatically if indoor blower is not running, so if air is not circulating thru evaporator coil, coil will freeze up and low side would be much lower then normal. Here is video how I found issue with package AC not coming on. Thermostat call for cool, but condenser would not come on, indoor blower runs ok.
