I have a vizio Model L37 HDTV10A (DPS-199AP A), Part 0500-0507-0180 (power supply), IC901 burned. I am trying to search for this part number but couldn't. You need to replace the main board (signal). It is the board with all the A/V hookups on it. The part number is a number with 3 sets of 4 numbers and at the end of this number there is a number letter sequence with ( ) parentheses around it. Do a search on ebay and you should find one. Be sure to match the numbers I mentioned to the one on ebay!

This means you have a dead short, It is probably a Diode in the power supply area, but without testing board you don't know. If you know basic electronics, i would say check all diodes in power supply and look hard for something burnt and replace that also. Or just replace power board, check shopjimmy.com

Look at the power supply, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

I have the same model for my bed room, my power supply blew up beyond repair, had to buy a used one, now the LCD controller board is going bad when it gets hot. Not a very good TV.

The backlight is powered by its own supply (although it may receive input from the main supply) and it sounds like the main supply or one of its outputs has failed disabling the video and sound processing.  

Use the auto code search function in your user manual. It may take a while but you have to scroll through all the cades until one works.

I found another used main board on ebay if your interested. It looks like the same unit I just purchased new.
