I believe my Toshiba 32AV500U has an HDMI problem. When the Insignia Blue Ray player is connected but powered off the TV has a black screen and no audio when trying to watch Cable TV. If I remove the HDMI cable or turn the player back on, the TV behaves normally.
A PS3 connected via HDMI will not display any picture at all. When the PS3 is connected and powered on the Toshiba will not display cable TV. If the PS3 is powered off the TV functions normally.
The Insignia and PS3 work normally on another HDMI compliant TV and I've tried several HDMI cables.
Through trial and error I believe I've isolated the problem being with the television. Is there a fix for this or will I have to return the TV?
Thanks
The Toshiba 32AV500U cannot display 1080p. Hook up your PS3 to your computer monitor, provided that it can display 1080p, or some other TV that can, then change your Video Output settings under Settings> Display Settings and uncheck 1080p, which will allow the PS3 to display in 1080i. Once you do that, then hook up the Toshiba via HDMI and it will work with no problem.
