I have just bought a new lamp for my samsung SP43J6HD and replaced a old one but TV wont work! Do I have to replace television's ballast or what... I heard klik's when I turned it on but after some time all three LEDs are slowly blinking all together and then for a short time lights all together and that repeats... Does it means that my lamp is not working? I paid attention to cover sensor switch...thx

lamp is lightning all the time but projection to lcd is not continuous...and NO there is no sound too

  • pkolarevic Jan 30, 2011

I still have the old one but I am not sure isthere any difference between those two because I get that TV from my cousin who allready was in a service and they told him that lamp is burned... so I will try the old one now...

  • pkolarevic Jan 30, 2011

I tried with old one but nothing...wont work with old one and now I put back new one and it is lightening but nothing on the screen ...nothing at all...I paid attention to wires and checked all once again...

  • pkolarevic Jan 31, 2011

Do you want to say that lamp has to be in a perfect position? Because the lamp works all the time but projection falls... I have allready try to bridge contacts of the temperature swtch which is placed above the lamp, between a lamp and the fan and same result I get... But i suppose that problem could be in "safety group" because when I turn on the TV and look at the signal LEDs they acts like this... at first there is "lamp LED" lightning, "picture LED" is blinking, and "standby temperature LED" is turned off !
In my service manuall that is described as OK-picture should come at 20 seconds... BUT after few seconds "standby temperature LED" turns itself on and then all three LEDs start to blink slow but continuously what is described in the manual like "replace the lamp" !

  • pkolarevic Jan 31, 2011

I checked everything but there is no other LEDs except those I talke about ( on the side of TV ) even those smallest...

  • pkolarevic Feb 07, 2011

No,not yet but maybe I am closer to solution of my problem ! I suspect that "remo" some kind of optic lens dos not read the light which is given by lamp... does that effect to LCD card which drives LCD projector? Because the lamp is working but there is no projection to screen

Ok since you say you have already checked the cover switch I would suspect that it is a temp sensor issue. I would however first recommend that you retry the lamp replacement as it can happen if the lamp is not seated properly in the housing or the screw that tightens on the cover of the housing(not the one near the door switch). Try it and let me know if problem persists and I will tell you how to proceed.

Ok. THanks for the clean explanation of the situation. I think I know what the problem is. See if the LEDs on any of the boards are coming on, especially the analog board. Mark the location(like OP 102) and let me know.

  • Anonymous Jan 31, 2011

I am not talking about those on the Side. THis one is located INSIDE the tv ON the analog board. The service manual lists that if the lamp does not come on and the door switch is OK , then the LED at OP101 on the analog board will come on. See the troubleshooting section flow chart.

If you have replaced the Lamp and TV Fails to work, then you also need to check the Fans and make sure they are OK. If Fans are OK then Repalce the Ballast Board.

Samsung Parts.com 1-800-627-4368 Ballast Board is what powers Lamp ON.

Bulb or Ballast?

If your old lamp is still working fine and the new lamp is not, then you bought a defective lamp. Get your money back or exchange the lamp.

How to Replace the Ballast in a Samsung DLP

Fist what is a TV ballast?

A television's ballast is a device connected to the lamp that provides an electric current, keeping the lamp operational. If you have a new lamp that isn't working properly, then you will more than likely need to replace the ballast. Replacing your television's ballast is less challenging than working with other parts of a Samsung Television, and is something that you should be able to do yourself.

  1. Remove the back panel of your Samsung DLP television, and then remove the lamp.
  2. Carefully unscrew the cover sensor switch, which should be located near the bottom-right side.
  3. Remove the two screws holding the lamp connector in place and slide it out.
  4. Remove the screws holding the inside unit of the TV in place, and very carefully ease the right side out, allowing access to the ballast.
  5. Unscrew the circuit board, remove the two cables going to the existing ballast and replace it with the new ballast in the same fashion.
  6. Put the inside unit of the television back in place and screw it in.
  7. Reattach the cover sensor switch.
  8. Reinstall the lamp and screw the back panel of the television back into position.
hope it works..

I have a samsung tv model s6-43w6hd and i need a bulb

The best price for a lamp to the Samsung SP43J6HD is $75.88 at http://www.amazon.com/Electrified-BP96-00826A-BP96-00608A-BP96-00837A-Replacement/dp/B003QL370U/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1294330442&sr=1-2 I hope this will help...

The tv switches on and the screen comes on, but then it goes out and the lamp light flashes like there is a problem with the lamp, but how can there be if the lamp lights up? Lamps either work or they...

That is not entirely true. This is not an incandescent lamp, it is a gas filled lamp. When it is about to go out, which includes exploding, the resistance will drop which means the lamp will pull more current. The ballast will sense this and shut down the TV. You need to replace the lamp. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4168009-change_lamp_in_dlp_projection_tv which explains how to fix the unit and where to get the parts. Let me know if you need more help.

Samsung hln617w dlp tv won't turn on. Red temp

Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.

Samsung SP50L6HX, I replaced the Lamp but still nothing.

Hi, Samsung haves a known issue with the ballast, once you make a replacement of the lamp, sometimes its harder to ignite a new lamp that has 100% of gas inside than igniting a old lamp that has maybe 60% or 50% of gas inside. Just in order to ignite the lamp, the ballast needs to send some High Pulses of Voltage, as high as 15 kV (that is the constant clicking sound that you are hearing). In order to resolve this you need to change the Ballast Board. I tried to look for your ballast with your TV Model # at samsungparts.com , but nothing showed up. You will need to find out which ballast part # you have in order to find it online. To locate the ballast part # please check the end of this video, you only need to take the lower back cover of TV off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q
Here is a link of a ballast I found http://www.discount-merchant.com/SAMSUNG-9137-008-08905-Lamp-Ballast-Driver-p/1138231.htm?Click=49915

The screen piture will not appear, the lamp light flashes red before all lights flashing, how do i solve, thanks

In this case is best if you replace it, but first, try identifying any awkward noises, if it's clikcing the issue is with the ballast, if it's humming, it's with the color wheel, and if you replaced the lamp already, it's most probable that the issue would be either ballast or colorwheel
