I have leads on patient and machine says leads off. everything is hooked up, why won't it give me a reading?

Any one of the lead is broken. you have to replace the ecg lead.
All the ecg machines have self diagnosing before its acquire the signals from the patient to print signal. while performing this function the machine detects all the signals from all the leads are prompt or not , if any one of the lead is missing it will not go further and will indicate check cable.

At-2 lite model not printing visibly patient data and interpretation also have blurred upper part of EKG print. All leads are printed well. Is this setup problem or malfunction?

hi,
check the paper you have inserted. if the paper quality is bad then the printing can become bad. Use schiller original paper.

if again printing is bad then the thermal printing head of you machine is faulty or the. you have to replace the same.

We use a Welch Allyn ECG machine at our office, and our numerous occassions lately it is saying the the limbs leads are reversed (avR is showing up positive and aVL is showing up negative). How do I fix...

hi,
You have wrongly connected the limb leads. Limb leads are those leads which we connect in the arms and legs.
In your case the leads in the arm have been interchanged. Thats why you get the message and prints inverted avR and avR.
check the leads and properly place it.

Welsh allen at-2 lead light is on however ekg machine will not give tracing

hi,
There is some problem with the patient cable. Any one of the lead is broken inside. AT2 senses the presence of all the lead first and then only it will acquire the ECG and store it in its memory, after that it will print the ECG.
If any one of the lead have some problem. it will not go to the next procedure. and will indicate the lead off light.

1. check are you connected the lead correctly.
2. clean the electrode properly.
then try one more time. if problem remains. you have to replace the patient cable.

The print for the reading is dark and the lines are all over the place. Mac1200 Thanks, Draya

If the ecg waveforms are all over the place you are probally recieving electrical interferance. If that happens when nobody is connected try adjusting the filters and see if it makes a diffrence. If it does not make a diffrence it might be the patient cable or leads.

ECG CABLE CUT BUT WITHOUT CUUTING THE GROUND SO ANY PROBLEM

  • In one respect, the patient cable is the most important part of the system; it is most frequently at fault when the machine fails to operate properly.
  • Several different patient cable configurations are used in ECG recording. Some are constructed of two pieces that plug together. While others are one piece.
  • Two piece units are generally more expensive initially but often prove more economical in the long run because breakage most frequently occurs at the electrode connector end of the cable.
  • This end can be replaced at a cost that is somewhat lower that the cost of a one piece cable.
  • Additionally a two piece cable allows the use of differents types of electrodes.
