Lorraine,
If you unplug the power wait 60 seconds or so then plug back in.
you should be able to open the door and hopefully it'll reset it for you to factory setting.

When I wash heavy stuff it will not spin properly because the weight is not distributed evenly over the load and it stops every time. you may need a repair man unless you can just move the dial to a drain spot rather than spin, if enough water gets out it will probably open then.

take the top off the machine, put your hand down to the reigon of the door lock and by using a small screw driver the catch on the door can be forced open without doing any damage.

SOURCE: Gorenje WA1541 Washing machine

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

And pl rate me if helped.................

SOURCE: Washing Machine Door won't open

I had the same problem. I went through all the steps on this thread to no avail. Finaly I just pryed the thing open - with no damage, thank goodness.

Once open I saw that the latch in the door didn't move when I pulled the handle. The problem it seems was in the latch on the door itself. If you end up this problem and want to get wet clothes out, just stick a flat-head screwdriver, behind the door latch into the horseshoe-shaped metal bit and lever it open - no prying necessary.

Not sure how I'm going to fix this permantely but at least I got my wet clothes out and can do laundry as long as I keep the screwdriver near by.

To fix - I'll either need to figure out how to disassemble the door and replace the latch mechanism, or just buy a whole new door.

SOURCE: bosch washing machine won't drain and the door won't open.

Sounds like you have a blocked pump.To empty the machine manually lower the drain hose into a bowl or bucket.Once emptied the door should open.On most modern machines there will be a filter behind the kick plate at bottom front of machine, Check this for any foreign objects then try a spin before putting on again. If problem persists come for further options.

Noisy spinning

First make sure that the load is balanced, if you are washing and spinning a dense load like trainers etc this can cause an imbalance. If you are washing a duvet cover or a pillowcase, make sure that the loose clothes washed with it haven't migrated inside the cover or case, this happens so easily. It is always worth checking that the support feet are all touching the ground when the washing machine is empty as this can cause excessive noise
hope this helpsKind regards ki

Why it doesn't spin

almost all washing machines have a special switch to turn off or don't let spin when door is open. If machine 'thinks' that door is open, won't spin. "" Danger, Will Roberson...Danger..."" If you don't know what U are doing, please get help. An open switch looks like door is open. The switch is INSIDE the body of washing machine, ON the door is a plastic piece that pushes the switch lever in. You have to place 'jumpers' across the contacts on switch, shorting switch and turning machine to spins cycle.

Going through full wash as normal but won,t go onto rinse or spin mode?

Hi,
Most front load units must have two things, door must lock and must sense cold water for rinse. I would check the fill line for the cold water, if clogged with sand, it will not progress through cycle. If the unit doesn't drain it will not spin, is there water left inside the drum area?

Sometimes it spins sometimes it doesn't had a problem this morning with a king size quilt, it came out soaking so I tried to spin it again & its still wet, I put in another load & then it...

Duvets/quilts are very heavy when wet, causing a very unbalanced load. If the machine could spin such a large uncentred (UK spelling!) mass it would shake itself to pieces, so all modern domestic washing machines have unbalanced load detection systems. In use these systems will vary the drum rotation to try and get the load evenly distributed before going into full spin, but if they can't then no spin occurs.

Very few domestic washing machines can take a duvet or quilt (certainly no front loader which I'm aware of, and only a few top loaders), and those which can fit them in are usually overloaded. There's nothing wrong with your machine, you just need to use a commercial launderette machine to wash and spin your duvet/quilts in future.

Model 27422300 Kenmore Washer doen't spin or Agitate

The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Zanussi turbodry 1050

this may sound silly but check the waste outlet pump electrically, some models are wired up so if the pump fails the water will not enter the machine, this works on the theory that if it fills up it can not empty also check the solenoids for open circuit electrically, double check the water supply to the machine, it may have been fine but you could have kinked the pipe placing the machine back where it should go?
