Model number would help but I'll give some general info. Most Kenmore dryers are usually made by Whirlpool so I'll give info for that type dryer. The 1st thing to check on a no heat is if the glow bar ignitor is coming on. At the cycle start it should glow red hot or orange. If no glow the glowbar may be burned out and needs replaced. This is the most common problem in a gas dryer. If you see the orange glow for about 15 seconds and it goes out ---that is normal. That usually means you may have a bad magnetic coil on the top of the gas valve. There are actually 2 coils on the valve and if either one goes bad the valve will not open and let gas through to ignite. They need tested with a multimeter. Thats the 2 most common problems with gas dryers.
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
check outthis electric no heat tip...
That is going to be them coils. The valve assembly has a glowbar, a flame sensor, and a set of coils. The ignitor and flame sensor must drop out of the circuit in order for the coils to open. The control klixon mounted on the blower housing beside the duct fuse is what controls the heat in the drum. The warmed air passes over the bottom of the bi-metal control and is regulated by that control coming on and off all through the cycle. The flame sensing device has been known to stick and stay open for a long time OR die altogether. The ignitor is like a light bulb, it is either going to work or not )no in between), Yall need to swap out them coils.
What did you do move it from one place to another place? You may have shifted the lint around and cause a limit to get tripped. Here is the manual and more
A gas dryer has a burner assembly consisting of an ignitor, 2 coils, and a flame sensor. The ignitor does 2 functions. It lights the fire and confirms the fire is on like a thermocouple. When it is heated it holds in the coil. If the glowbar is not lit then the coils will not open. The ignitor must be heated to allow that. So if the ignitor and flame sensor is fine and the dryer works when cool but stops heating when hot I would say you need to replace the solenoids.
The dryer is automatic ignition through a glowbar ignitor. Open the lid and remove the front panel to access the glowbar. It is on the bottom right at the gas valve. It will need replacing.
if the motor turns, then it could be the glowbar/ignitor,the cycling switch, the flame sensor, the gas valve coils,a thermal fuse, temp switch,hi-limit thermostat,or the electronic dryness control
sounds like you have a bad gas ignitor. It is under the bottom plate and sits on the burner and is held in with 2 1/4 inch screws.8273075 should be the part number for your ignitor....the model number you gave is incomplete so it's hard to tell but hopefully that will help you out
Could be a bad hi limit thermostat. Could be a bad glowbar ignitor. Check the glowbar ignitor at the gas valve, is it glowing bright orange/red? If not. Replace the ignitor.
You don't light the pilot. Gas dryers have a glow bar type ignitor. These get very fragile with age and will burn out like a light bulb. The other thing that will wipe out the glowbar is moving the machine if it gets handled roughly.
