I had a similar problem with a different model Bosch dryer. First I made sure the dryer was unplugged. I found, after taking the front and rear panels off, that one of the front wheels that supports the drum was broken. I replaced the wheel and it works fine with no squeaks.
Hi dave hemming. I do not believe it is a bearing that is causing your thumping noise ***************************************************************************** No...you do not need a new drum...all you need is new drum rollers You probably have a flat spot on one of the rollers, it will make the thumping sound when the drum rotates. Go to the following webpage and get your drum rollers and install them and that should take care of the noise you are hearing Please take time to rate me Bud http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx
Thoroughly check the inside of the dryer for
any foreign objects with hard surfaces. Sometimes items that fall out
of pockets become stuck inside a dryer and make thumping noises.
Check for level
Make sure the dryer is level. A dryer that is out of level may not
rotate properly. Banging or thumping noises from unleveled dryers are
common, particularly if the dryer is resting against another metal
object such as a washer.
Check rollers
If the thumping noises are present only for the first few minutes of
the drying cycle the likely culprit is rollers. If the rollers are
warped they will need to be replaced and a professional should be
called in to help
There are two rollers that hold the drum in place. I'm betting that one of those rollers have broken or fallen off. It's not a very easy fix since you'll have to take the dryer completely apart to fix it. Good luck!
It Is fixable. All you need to is try to balance the load or a perfect concrete flat surface for the machine. If
the problem still persists, then during the previous vibrations, the
shocks or the drum bearings might have been damaged, you might have well replace them to
avoid further problems.good luck.and please post your comments.
Did it make this noise the first time you tried drying a load of laundry? Is it possible that there's something (like a pebble, some change) that is making this noise?
If you can eliminate that possibility, since the machine is only 2 weeks old, don't worry too much about it. Call the company and exercise your warantee rights to get it fixed.
