I have a Commercial Series Centennial Maytag washer. It was fine, but now the cycles are not running correctly. The agitator starts while it is still filling, water fills while on the spin cycle, etc. Any help?

Replace the "water inlet valve" on your machine. If you could post your model number I can point you to the part you need.

Normally its down to the water control unit. Its contained withing the switch unit on the far left of your machine. This is a common problem and takes about 20 mins to replace. The part can be found on Sears's website, part finder. Approx $65. All you need is the model number to find the part you need.

2011 Maytag Centennial. It starts to agitate while the water fills in the beginning of the cycle.

Does it fill with water to the correct level? The water pressure switch lets the machine fill to a certain level and the stops the water coming in, then the control board should start the agitation.

The first video might help you.

Wash cycle will agitate 3 spins then nothing for a few minutes then 3 more and nothing again and repeat over and over

you may want to put it through a diagnostics cycle and check for error codes... Maytag Centennial Washer Repair Guide
The tub sensor can cause the washer to act strangely like that. Also there are two mechanical styles of washer branded Maytag Centennial. The model number would help to know we are talking about the one I think we are talking about.
Hope that helps!

How do I fix my Maytag Centennial commercial technology washer.

No agitation? first use a meter and check ur water pressure switch? that is what sends the machine the message to start wash cycle? You can test it with a meter and with a manual test? ( first locate it in the panel, it has a plastic clear tube hose going into it, remove that tube from its connection, now put another small tube or hose into the slot where it was and have the machine set to wash cycle with water in it. Blow into the other end of the tube. If the machine starts to wash. the pressure switch is more than likely good. now take the original hose tube and plug one end and blow into it the other end, it should be hard and have pressure, if it is easy to blow and u dont feel any pressure and it feels like the air is going out ? sometimes they get busted open or a pin hole and release air causing the water switch diaphram to not open. if both check ok then next the motor coupler or belt if belt driven. check with a multi meter for continuity the door switch, and if there is a little movement on wash cycle in 1 direction only then check the cam dogs in agitator.

Why does my maytag yop loading centennial washer sometimes spin and sometimes not?I can move the washer cycle knob to different cycles and I will still have the same problem

I had the same problem kinda. Does it start to agitate before it fills with water? Its supposed to fill with water, agitate, sense the amount of the load, then fill with the correct amount of water. If it agitates right away then you need a water level/ temperature control sensor. I replaced mine and no longer have the problem of wet clothes at the end of the cycle. The part number is w10248240. Look on you tube for a video on how to replace. The one I saw showed how to diagnose the sensor. The part cost about $90 and it took longer for me to get out my tools than replacing the part. This part goes bad by starting the machine then adding more clothes after it starts. You can also try blowing air down the tube from the back of the sensor. It didn't work for me but was suggested and blowing the air didn't cost anything.

Maytag centennial washer will not agitate

If it is belt driven the belt might be broken. It is underneath the washer

Centennial series stops agitatimg

Usually a top loader will not agitate until the fill sensor is satisfied. If the water has shut off, and is up at the desired level, the fill sensor has done part of it's job. Check the connections there, and at the timer. It may just be a loose connection.

I have a Maytag Centennial washer, model number MVWC6ESWW, when I start the machine, it immediately starts agitating and adding water simeltaneously. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are soaking wet,...

I had the same issue. When I started the machine it began agitating and then began to fill as if it is beginning the second rinse cycle - well I think it was.... SO, I threw in some towels and began the cycle at the second rinse part of the cycle. Low and behold, the next load started and finished just fine.

I hope this helps. This is just one of many issues with this machine, but luckily I haven't had to call the repairman yet! They all seem to revolve around the thing being out of sync.
