Picture is gone! :*(

My Zenith tv (about fifteen years old I think) was making some strange sounds like a scratching buzzing sound and the picture would go out but you could still hear the show just fine. After a minute or so it would come back with a fine clear picture. Now the picture has gone out completely. The sound is fine but can't get a picture. Every so often (too infrequently) the picture will come back and looks good... but only lasts a few seconds.

The picture tube (what makes the TV picture work) has blown out. Just call you nearest tv reapair shop and purchase a new one. (these are kind of expensive!)

(Also, if it's fifteen years old, i think it's time to get a new T.V. hint. hint.)

Set was on and made a loud pop noise and the picture went off. the red light was flashing and no picture. then it made a strange buzzing type of sound a few times. turned off for a couple mins and then...

It sounds like your screen inverter has just gone >bang< unfortunately.
Most screens inside use 2 main circuit boards, and you are most likely going to have to change one of them.
It's possible also for it to have been just the backlight bulb making the loud pop noise too. The inverter may have given out too much power and blown the bulb (a lot like you hear when a house bulb goes bang).

If you can't actually hear any TV sounds (normal sounds like music, voices etc. when they should be there), then it means the problem is more serious, and would need a specialist repair place to check out the electrical circuit inside.

Colors going bad on my tv?

The picture tubes in Zenith sets (I assume it's a Zenith since you posted this with a Zenith heading, although it's also true for any set this old) were only expected to last around 7 years. Your description makes it sound like you are missing green, or that the green is just way low. This is a common sign of a bad picture tube. There are other possible causes, but tube failure is the most likely. The low replacement cost for small TV sets makes repairing this one uneconomical.

Get rid of the set and treat yourself to a new one.

I have a 1994 zenith big screen the picture is showing really dar

It could be that the picture tubes have gone down on emission, there is a prcedure that can be tried to bring up the overall brightness but it is just possible that you will loose some picture quality. If it's a 1994 projo tv i am thinking of the three crt system, a gray scale alignment would probably correct the dark condition in your picture, again depending on how far gone is the emission in your picture tubes, if your projo tv is the dlp system, the bad news is that you could be needing some light engine repair. The color adjustment is possible with the availability of a service manual or in the case of the dlp system, light engine repairs or replacement are available from some on line stores.

Sound

I do not have a Zenith B25A02Z TV. What I do have is a 1988 Zenith Color TV SE2517P. I called a local tv repairman and discussed the problem over the phone. He can take a look at it if we bring it in (service call to the home cost $100 just to show up). He said it was worth fixing since he thought it was only the sound. We have a great picture. He charges $20 to look at it but we have to leave it. He lives 20 minutes away one way. We think it is worth the trip if we can get it loaded into our minivan. We live in western NY where the weather can get pretty ugly many days. I will post the solution later when I know. FYI

Zenith 27" TV

I sorry to say I think you have a component failing that is related to heat. 15 years is a long time and if the TV was used in hpot conditions over the years it may well be the proble, or it's just old.

Buzzing noise, sound but no picture

It sounds as if the lamp needs to be replaced. The buzzing sound you hear is the ballast attemting to fire the lamp.

Picture went out and all the tv does is make a buzzing sound

The horizontal output transistor drives a transformer that gives you the high voltage to light up the picture tube, either the transistor or the transformer have gone bad, sometimes both have to be replaced and sometimes the transistor fails for no reason by itself.Be safe and call for help if you are not familiar with tv service.
