Need to play region 1 DVD in region 2

Pls help! I live in South Africa and have a LG RH1757 HDD / DVD Recorder and it won't play region 1 DVD. Is there a code I can use to change this?

Mark Does the same solution (Set-up, scroll to lock, press 0 seven times) work for all LG DVD/HDD recorders? I am thinking of buying an LG RH387H in Macau and want to know if it will still work when I return to Australia. I couldn't find this model in the list!

I just got a RH387H in Hong Kong, region 3, but the above method doesn't work, this model has slightly different icon, no "lock" icon, I tried in other similar location but no effect, hopefully someone will provide a method.

Hi I got a Lg HDD/Dvd Recorder Model RH1999H. Ihave a problem copying Dvd from the hardrive. When I load a completly blank disc, the recorder will not intialize the disc. How do get this recorder to intialize the disc to video. When i got to set up mode, I select Disc Format option, i cannot get into the format mode, I tried to change it but it does not change the only thing I see on the disc format mode is PBC highlighted.
Please advise

What is the country code for australia - lg dvd recorder

The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs.

Could be a timing issue with the tray mechanism - possible that somebody has given the tray "a shove" to make it close instead of using the open/close button and has put the timing out.or a worn tray loading belt

1 open the tray in dvd mode
2 push 0 seven times.
3 it will ask you if you want to become region free just
push yes

I have a lg dr 165 dvd player and it does not play region 1 dvds

1. Power on
2. Open DVD tray
3. Press 7 times 0 on the remote control
4. You will see a "Now zonefree" confirmation message on the screen.

Live in region 2 want to play region 1

To unlock all regions:

1.Press Setup on remote
2.Scroll down to Lock icon
3.Press 0000000
4.Regionfree!!!
